I would agree with you if Roku makes money off these players, but they really don't. They make money off you using it i.e. ads and digital in-Roku purchases, so they are better off supporting it as long as possible.

Most of these are more of a loss leader to get you into or keep you in their ecosystem.

No offer. My oldest Roku is the Roku 3 Angry Birds Edition. I wonder how it compares to the express. It looks like the express doesn't have a headphone jack on the remote.

On a side note. They removed Angry Birds from it about 5 years ago and somehow didn't get class action lawsuits. They did not compensate anyone for removing the product that they purchased.

For those with chase freedom set your roku payment method to PayPal.
-Note that if you want to do this, once logged into roku go to the "my account page" in roku then choose payment method and select PayPal.
- Then obviously ensure your PayPal account has the default payment method set to chase freedom.
-Don't try and do what I did and change the method of payment during the checkout process away from roku pay because if you try and change it here it sends you in an endless loop between the PayPal log in and the cart. You need to choose the "roku" pay option for the payment method (as long as you set your roku payment method to PayPal in the account settings as I have advised the roku payment selection will charge via PayPal.

This Roku Express (model 3930) from 2019 will run circles around that Roku 2. If you want a voice remote, get the Roku Express+ (model 3931).

I would jump...but I have gotten really used to the roku remote controlling the TV. Even my OTA TV is viewed via Plex now, thanks to the HD Homerun. So the remote not having a power button is a deal breaker.

That was a little bit of a clunky checkout process and applying the promo code took forever. But it's a cheap roku and can serve as a backup or a gift for someone. But was able to finish the order successfully
