They could combine both services together and there still wouldn't be anything to watch
If you take Gmail you can use the same email address and just put a . somewhere in there. For example John.Smith@gmail is the same as JohnSmith@gmail or J.ohnsmith@gmail so you have a lot of extra options. Many sites will take those as different email addresses but Gmail will all send them to the same one
Just in time for Dexter!

if you're considering this to watch Yellowstone, don't. It's not on Paramount +.

Aside from that, there is still TONS of good stuff to watch on both. Especially tv shows w/o commercials.

In case you're interested, you WILL NOT be able to watch Yellowstone through Paramount Plus. My understanding is, you'll need Paramount Network (or access to Paramount Network), which is quite a bit more.

They need to merge with someone. It's just not a strong enough of a catalog.

Dexter question: I saw some early seasons of the original series but quit around season 2 or 3. The idea of having to watch everything to the end is daunting and just not feasible. Is it possible to watch a select list of key episodes to get the critical events/storyline? Anyone know if such list exists?

Anyone know if this will be available 4 weeks from now? I'm not seeing an expiration date….and given how Dexter won't be fully aired for another 8 weeks, was wondering if there was a way to watch it without spending anything.

Edit: never mind.
Looks like the price in this post is for showtime AND paramount. The site I'm seeing is offering a 4$ price per month for showtime after the trial period up to 4 months. Not bad.

The first three seasons of Yellowstone are also on Peacock which is undoubtedly confusing. Licensing is a big business for ViacomCBS which explains that weirdness. In case anyone is interested, this article explains it well:

By the way, certain AMEX card members may have an offer in which they give you a $5 credit per month, for up to 3 months.

There's actually TWO separate offers, actually.

There's "Spend $8 or more on Showtime, get a $5 credit per month, up to three months." That will expire by the end of 12/31/2021, which means you might not be able to get three monthly charges between now and then.

And then there's "Spend $9 or more on Paramount+, get a $5 credit per month, up to three months." And that one expires on 02/11/2022.

I originally had a 30-day free trial to Showtime, by itself, it was going to start charging me $8 until I noticed that they were offering Paramount+ Premium and Showtime bundled together for $12.99, and that monthly price was going to be guaranteed as long as you don't cancel. If I remember correctly, I found this offer through the Watch Showtime website in my account settings, but I'm not 100% sure of this. This is normally a $15 bundle, but from the Showtime website, they were offering me $2 off the bundle, indefinitely as long as you don't lapse your subscription.

My Showtime website account settings even keeps track of the account transactions to show how I stumbled into this:
Quote :
Date Description Amount
10/29/2021 Charged to AMERICAN EXPRESS x-2xxx $14.06
09/30/2021 Subscription updated: You now have SHOWTIME Monthly and Paramount+ Premium -----
09/30/2021 Charged to AMERICAN EXPRESS x-2xxx $8.44
09/30/2021 Account Credit Applied $5.26
09/30/2021 Promo code applied - $2 off the regular plan price until your subscription is changed or canceled. $1.95
09/29/2021 Charged to AMERICAN EXPRESS x-2xxx $5.40
08/30/2021 Free Trial 08/30/2021 - 09/29/2021 -----
08/30/2021 Promo code redeemed - Enjoy SHOWTIME for only $4.99 per month for 3 months! -----
But, that $2 off promo is irrelevant now, because that deal expired on October 20th, I just found out.

So there's only the $15 Paramount+ Premium (Ad-Free, Local CBS station) bundled with Showtime, this AMEX $5 credit offer would knock that down to $10/month+tax for up to three monthly cycles.

Or the $12 Paramount+ Essential (w/Ads, no Local CBS station) bundled with Showtime, this AMEX $5 credit offer would knock that down to $7/month+tax for up to three monthly cycles.

Showtime, without any promotional pricing whatsoever, is $11/month. And I'm almost certain that nobody here consider Showtime to be worth that much, just by itself. But hopefully it adds some context as to whether you think this Paramount+/Showtime bundle is worth it.

I'm on the fence about it, since the bundle is slightly cheaper for me, and I will lose that rate if I cancel the subscription after New Years.

I have both promos on Amex blue cash…but wanted Yellowstone…looks like not available?
