This guy tests a bunch of masks, these Powecoms are one of his current recommendations. Good filtration, although he notes that they're not as breathable as some of his other recs.

These are great to have on hand in case there's ever a pandemic or anything.

This is true, the official KN95 masks adhere to China's strict healthcare standards, which are equivalent to the US' N95 standard. In fact, Powecom is the only KN95 manufacturer that has been found by the FDA to perform well enough to be awarded an emergency use clause. In an emergency, American healthcare workers can use these very masks, as they've been found to be effective by our foremost public health agency, just fyi.

no sense in getting KN95 masks when you can get genuine 3M N95 masks for around the same amount per mask. I have these and they are fine, but they do not compare to 3M N95 masks.

I purchased 20 of these before, and even though they definitely feel better filtration and quality than regular masks, the earloops are so tight that they hurt your ears. Not a problem for an 8-year old, but anybody over that age, they will have to come up with some kind of extender as I did (paperclip). I complained but they never got back to me.
If you gently stretch the straps, holding onto the strap so it doesn't stress at the attachment point, you can make them looser and more comfortable.

In what way do they not compare to 3M N95 masks? You realize that the KN95 standard and the N95 standard are equivalent right? What is causing you to prefer one over the other I wonder

Any recommendations for KN95s that fit better for people with big heads and wide faces? I used these on a recent work trip and would have liked it to cover more of my face, if that makes sense.

Have you tried both? I have and the N95 are light years higher quality. KN95 masks are thin and flimsy, while N95 masks are thick and sturdy and you feel much more protecion. It's like wearing a light jacket vs. A winter jacket.

I think the behind the neck strap version Powecom that I bought from this seller likely fit tighter and filter better than the earloops ones but breathing ease can be an issue. I feel like I am being suffocated if I wear then and start to fall asleep as I do on airplanes. When when breathing slows as I fall asleep I wake up due to feeling like I am being suffocated. In other situations I have had to step outdoors and pull the mask off to get some fresh air.

I wear the earloop version when I pull the mask off and on frequently when going into numerous stores. The earloop version is easier to get on and off but when wearing for a long period such as on an airplane or elsewhere for 30 minutes or longer I wear the behind the head loop version that I find much more comfortable.

Quote from ranova :
used these during some long air travel days (12+ hours) over the weekend (thanks Southwest) and the top of both of my ears are scabbed. This is likely due to my fat head. I have used these for the past 6+ months for general use without issue. Just a FYI if you have a larger head and expect to use it for a long period of time. In that case, the behind the head straps will be better and more comfortable
I have a larger head but my wife and daughter do not. My wife and our daughter wear a mask all day long at work and much prefers the behind the head strap version of these. I have more than enough earloop versions to last me a long time at the rate I use them and will only purchase the behind the head loop version in the future.

The ear loops don't particularly hurt my ears, but they are definitely too tight, more so than any of the surgical masks I've tried.

I don't think my head is particularly large, either.

They give me the "elf look" because they pull my ears outwards, and are less secure as a result (easier to slip off your ears).

I got these during the last deal. They are tight around the ears for sure but it seems to be a good quality product otherwise.

I agree, I really like the fit and feel of the part that covers the face - it's just a shame that it's offset by the inferior loop fit.

Does anyone have the problem where the metal nose piece really digs into your nose and leaves an indentation that takes a while to go away? I have a somewhat large nose but I wonder if anyone has had the same issue and come up with a good solution without sacrificing a good seal.

Seconding this. Been wearing these for... a year at this point and while they were uncomfortable at first, I've gotten used to them. Now unless I'm masked for 8+ hours without a break, they're okay.
