This guy tests a bunch of masks, these Powecoms are one of his current recommendations. Good filtration, although he notes that they're not as breathable as some of his other recs.

This is true, the official KN95 masks adhere to China's strict healthcare standards, which are equivalent to the US' N95 standard. In fact, Powecom is the only KN95 manufacturer that has been found by the FDA to perform well enough to be awarded an emergency use clause. In an emergency, American healthcare workers can use these very masks, as they've been found to be effective by our foremost public health agency, just fyi.

You obviously haven't tried these at all. These are way thicker than the 3m n95 masks. Controlled tests show these to be absolutely equivalent in filtration. But these particular ones are harder to breath in because they are considerably thicker. But the 3M N95 9502+ are also more expensive.

But FDA has withdrawn the EUA on kn95. Health care workers should not use kn95 anymore

Thirding this. I have a pretty fat head, and gently stretching out the loops makes a huge difference.

Weirdly enough, I've tried Powecom's "headstraps" KN95 and their N95 versions....but this one is my favorite. Maybe it's just my head shape, but I get the best "seal" with these masks (as opposed to the other ones I listed).

Good, affordable masks which give more protection than, say, a simple hospital mask.

I've been wearing these 12 hours a day for the past year and a half.

The ears aren't that tight. I don't have a tiny head.

If the ears fit to loosely the mask wouldn't be tight enough to offer protection.

My solution is to run one loop through the other behind my head, then stick a pencil or pen through the loop sticking out. I used to have to wear these 10+ hours a day at work. the other advantage of this trick is it really stretches out the elastic and after a few hours of wearing it, the elastic is stretched out enough it doesn't hurt quite as much behind your ears either.

If I get any of these masks that feel like they are too tight around the ears, I just take the mask off then hold all four attach points together with one hand (so I don't risk tearing them off) and give the elastic a couple good pulls with my other hand to stretch the elastic out a bit. The white Powecom masks sold at Office Depot seemed tighter than the black Powecom masks I previously bought, but a quick stretch of the elastic bands and all is good.

This should work for most people...

I have been using these since February this year. Love them. Ordered 10 more with this deal. Thank you OP!

I have an average size head and they fit great. Agreed that they take a little getting used to vs a thin blue mask, but that is quickly overcome. I work in patient care and am face-to-face all day. Instead of being flat against the face, this style creates a pocket around the mouth and nose that is not only more comfortable, but also makes it so people can hear and understand you better. Also appreciate that this creates a higher quality mask option that still looks like a somewhat average mask, instead of the intense 3M, "I've come to install your drywall" look. As an FYI, I paid $27 for 30 masks back in February and felt like that was a great price for the quality. This deal is even cheaper.

Sure, but the fact that this brand of KN95 has emergency use approval at all tells you that these masks are of quality, regardless of the current state of emergency.

Sorry I don't tend to go by feel when judging protection for me and those around me. I don't think that feeling is calibrated to measure such a thing. I go by what the experts recommend and strongly advise you to as well. These masks are recommended by the FDA because of rigorous study, that should be your deciding factor.

Are these things going up in price like crazy lately?

I bought a 30 pack of these back in April for $8.43 and for a while it seemed like masks were being sold everywhere for blowout prices when it looked like we weren't going to be needing them anymore.
