This is true, the official KN95 masks adhere to China's strict healthcare standards, which are equivalent to the US' N95 standard. In fact, Powecom is the only KN95 manufacturer that has been found by the FDA to perform well enough to be awarded an emergency use clause. In an emergency, American healthcare workers can use these very masks, as they've been found to be effective by our foremost public health agency, just fyi.

If you're going to disagree with someone at least do the basic research necessary to check your implications. These masks perform equally to N95, as they always have. Powecom is truly a great brand of mask.

The commenter was making his life choices based on what the CDC says..... so....

So the fda approved the newer thinner version of the mask, 2019 apparently? Your link doesn't want to load the pdf on brave/chrome .... or is it indeed true the FDA approved an older version of the mask, not this one listed for sale?

CDC finds in 2020 that Powecom masks outperform the KN95/N95 standard (which are essentially the same, they just have different certifying bodies). The FDA approved the older version of the mask but I can't find anything about the FDA's testing of the 2019 version actually, so both are true.

seems like a decent deal, but for a lot of us our work hands out boxes of surgical and n95's like candy to everyone, in fact we aren't even allowed to use any other type of surgical/N95 other than the chinese ones the state bought, doesn't matter if its a better mask, nothing else is authorized so no point in buying these if you're getting boxes for free from work lol.

Continues to blow my mind that we're doing masks in so many places but not good ones. Why isn't EVERYONE using N95 or equivalent? There isn't a shortage of these and there hasn't been for a long time.
