B&H has the Asus ROG STRIX XG17AHP Portable Gaming Monitor on backorder for $499. This 17.3" monitor features a built-in 7800 mAh battery, a 240Hz refresh rate and ships with a portable tripod stand, smart cover, and bag. I have never really seen it on sale from its $599 list price and so it may be worth backordering if interested in this monitor and don't want to pay full price.

It can also be bought in renewed condition from Amazon for $479.

The stand makes it deceiving. I see it now, it's actually a 'portable' monitor, duh. Thanks. It's kinda expensive for a small 23 inch. I doubt someone will want to use it as a primary desktop screen. It probably fills some niche but I can't figure it out. https://rog.asus.com/us/monitors/...ahp-model/

The niche for me is that it fits in a backpack or carry-on luggage and I can setup an office just about anywhere while on the road. The appeal of this over most 17.3" portable monitors is the height adjustable stand which will improve ergonomics for all day work. From what I can tell, there isn't much else out the like this.

I have a couple of portable monitors I use as secondary displays. They're powered over USB-C and they're great for basic web browsing, Word, Excel, etc. but they're just basic laptop panels. This is a great monitor for gamers and could also be hooked up to anything via HDMI in a pinch, even an iPhone or iPad. Definitely a niche product, but there's nothing else out there that does what this does.

i carry around a 24inch 240hz in a gator case wiht my 17.3 inch laptop with a 2070 rtx it.

I do have a 13 inch portable monitor that usb c and 60 hz,

This would end up probably being better for me form factor wise, but I could care less about the battery since anyone seriously gaming on a protable system that is laptop based probably has a power issue that dumbs down settings or throttles if on battery.

Anyway, nice concept, very niche, I would be in for this if it was around 250-300 dollars, but 500 dollar pricepoint doesn't make it viable for me.
