More power as a single unit. Reaches better speeds on wireless, more ethernet ports. More stable. Better supported.

Not that Eero units are bad, they are known for being great and simple units. Google is still on Wifi5, if I remember, so a bit of a step back if you have WiFi6 devices.

Systems like these are for those that want more control on their routers. Fine tuning. Faster speeds with better management of concurrent connections. Also, you have to be careful with mesh systems unless you know your needs well. Getting one without a dedicated backhaul (Google is your friend) means big dropoffs on the node connected devices. Fine if you plan your setup well enough.

I've had 2 mesh setups before. Samsung AC1300 (not very powerful and handoffs between nodes weren't clean, killing connections). Then the Netgear AX1800 Nighthawk 2 unit setup. Worked fine for a year, but then it didn't like my upgrade to gigabit fiber. Wouldn't get my speeds, had to mess with far too many settings. When I finally got it where I wanted it, it lost my settings. Went to check for new firmware and it hung, causing me to hard reset the whole system. I went to look to call Netgear, but apparently, after 90 days they expect you to pay for ALL support. They can simply be in my "do not send business their way" list after that.

A bit of a novella, but I hope this helps. The main takeaways I can give you is this:
Know your house, and how well signals travel - My house was built by the ancient Mayans apparently and signal does not go as far through the walls.
Know your needs - lower demand and lower speed bandwidth, you can get away much cheaper than this or the others listed.
Don't give Netgear any business - Sorry Netgear, it's been a good run, but to charge to talk to support? No thank you. I usually am the support for people I know, and I don't charge anyone I know or anyone they know for helping them. A good company supports their products better than 90 days. At least for the warranty period (1 year) is a reasonable minimum.

This will give much higher speeds if you have a gigabit internet plan. The google mesh will give you better coverage but will top out at around 300ish.

Amazing router! Been running it for 2 months and if your a gamer, there is a dedicated ethernet ports to prioritize traffic to your games.

The 5ghz transmission is fast but not a big signal, so keep that in mind. I've been connected to everything in my basement full bars and more.

If you're anime fan, then take note that they have the gundam editions of this router. The RGB's are the best I've seen on any router that I've had previously and can change from rainbow colors, to gradient, custom colors, no rgb, etc.

Will this work for 3200 square feet home if placed in center? I have been using netgear extender with my netgear r6300v2 which just died. Will netgear extender work with this AsUS router?
best way to find out is to try. This has far, far more range than my old R6250 (extremely close to your 6300), and I had DD-WRT and increased the draw to the antennas.

My suggestion: Order from Amazon. If it fits your needs, great (I think it will). If not, easy returns.

As for the extender, it should be fine, it basically repeats the signal it's told to repeat, but with a different SSID. Not a mesh, but certainly can help if the more remote spots are low demand. You'll have to go through the whole sat up again.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, of course.

How does this compare to the Costco Netgear ax6200 ( ax8 rax78)?

Asking because I recall Costco products aren't normally wrt ready. I also have some ac1900 that I might want to use with ai mesh.

been trying to figure this out so hopefully someone who utilizes AImesh can tell me. If I add this router to my previous AImesh system, will it still give Wifi6 speeds to devices in it's range? Or will it default to the fastest speed of the other nodes?
This would be the only Wifi6 router in the mesh though I will have it as the main one, but it will be pointless to upgrade if I can't utilize wifi6

I'm currently using that now. Family has been complaining about random stalls. Picked up the tp-link ax11000. Getting that today so will try that.

Any suggestions on a unit to extend range that doesn't cost $200 bucks?

I might suggest the AX56. A few people I know use the AX58 as their primary and have had nothing at all bad to say about it.

AX56 is about $130, AX58 is about $170. I'd say try the AX56 for the remote unit, but buy from somewhere with a good return policy.

That said, I'd first try this one alone and see how well it works without the additional nodes.

Shame that prices have rebounded upward.. we were about to see prices get reasonable to upgrade old ac network routers. I guess it can wait until 1 gigabit broadband falls to under $50/mo for the majority of ISPs

I just moved from older Asus ecosystem to eero6 and I am honestly impressed by stability and speeds I am getting. I have extra beacons I don't need right now.

Seeing this makes me wonder if I made a right choice. Any thoughts?

Eero mobile app is so simple and functional, really no complaints.

I've been waiting ages for the AX5700 to go on sale, and not only has it not done that, but increased in price and is out of stock many places.

This chip shortage is going to make for a pretty disappointing Black Friday.

At least I can sell my old equipment for top dollar.

I imagine this thing becoming airborne and engaging the TP-Link one from Costco, which is obviously a terrain combat vehicle. *Pew* *Pew*
