Also comes with 5 year warranty and 6 months free showtime. This is the best deal I have seen on this TV.

Just got this for $1000 on clearance from Sam's and it's decent, but the brightness level is not good. I think OLED is brighter. In a dark room it looks good for an LCD, but if you have the money get an OLED or a much brighter LCD.

For movie watching the $1600 75" Sony X90CJ is better than the $1800 75" Samsung Q8DT based off of the Rtings scores https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...1819/21562

Why is this deal not getting more upvotes? Is there a better tv available at this price range? I can see QN85 might be a contender but is costlier.

I see, thanks. I was going to go in and buy this but I think I am going to wait and see if we can get the 75 QN90A at a discount on Black Friday.

I got this set for my living room back in April or May for around this price. It's a phenomenal TV. I love watching movies on it!

I'd like to get another for my basement/office, but I'm holding out for a good deal on the 65" version, because this would overkill down there.

Same here, bought last 2 at Sams @ $991 with 4 year warranty. I think it looks great and brightness is completely acceptable. They will always have a better rated TV, but at what cost???? The 8 series is right in the middle of the Samsung line. Seems to be that best value T is always close outs of last years model

I will admit streaming TV looks really good on this TV. I'm just so spoiled with OLED I can't love it. Also, the anti glare on this TV is really weird and causes certain light sources to stretch across the screen. I have Edison bulbs in my kitchen and even when not directly visible on the screen reflection they stretch across the screen. I have to turn them off. This problem is due to the wide angle viewing filter on the TV. For $1000 this is a solid deal but I can afford the $3000 77" OLED and now wish I had gone that route. Don't feel like the hassle of returning.

Opinions on this (Q8) for 1.8k vs the Sony X90 for 1.6k vs the Q7 for 1.5k?

Im leaning towards the Samsung, I previously had the MU8k and liked it, I would be happy with a similar tv at a lower price point that these.
Leaning towards the Q7, since its the cheapest and better than my previous exp with the MU8k. Also, the viewing angle and anti glare are going to be pretty beneficial for me.

Would the Q8 be worth the $300 difference, when considering that $1.5k is already reaching my budget?

edit: Looks like I was looking at the wrong Q7 model...the costco model rting is a 7.5, not the 8.1 model year.

Definitely go with the Q8 is you're buying Samsung. It's a Full Array compare to lower model. Do more research on it if I were you.

This tv gets plenty bright, make sure local dimming is on high, turn off eco sensor. Put contrast to hugest setting and you can also put brightness to around 40.

Contrast Edge Enhancer when placed on high brightens the image as well + you can add shadow detail as well.

100% Fact you are not using the full capabilities of this tv as I own this exact set and know it can get very bright.

*Also own LG Oled
