Interesting that the electric toothbrush bothered to allow for replacement of the battery but is otherwise disposable (so the brush head and underlying motor/vibration components are all integral). This is remarkably inexpensive, but does seem wasteful unless you're just trying to compile a source for small motors for your DIY hobby(?).

At this price I'd rather get one of the Oral B or philips AA powered ones for $20. Generic replacement heads for those often <$1 each bought in 8-10 packs. In terms of plastic thrown out per replacement, those are better than even manual toothbrushes

DDS here just spend your $ on a middle of road sonicare nothing else is even close, even for your kids/family it's worth it then non-branded buy heads from amazon.
These are good but the battery life can be inconsistent. My wife goes through about 5 by the time the battery dies in mine. Still she seems to like them and always asks me to buy more and says she finds them remarkably satisfying. Just seems like a normal toothbrush to me but she's recommended them to all of her friends.
I got this one yesterday as part of my October Subscribe and Save order:
Oral-B 3D White Action Power Toothbrush, 1 Count (Colors May Vary), Multi-colored
I paid $4.97 and I believe you can still get that price by clipping the coupon and using S&S (I did get the 15% discount).
I tried it today and it is not bad. The head can be replaced and it uses an AA battery. I have a Sonicare that is very good, but it was a pain to make sure to charge it before a trip, pack it in its travel case and bring it with me. This one seems less trouble and maintenance and will do for travel.

I'm pretty sure most people just put it back on its stand after each use, that way it's always ready to go when needed. Of course the stand is plugged in the wall 24/7. If I go on a trip, I bring the stand along too. It's small, packs away easily, my tube of toothpaste is twice as big as it.
