I have one of these. They are super thin and can be folded up really compact. I like it for what it is. They are not intended for really cold weather but more like a cooler day. Think of it more as a windbreaker than the thicker Patagonia down puffer jacket.

This is not an updated version of the nano. It's an entirely different jacket designed for a different purpose. With that said, I don't think the vast majority of buyers need this level of technical capability. Kinda akin to the person in the expensive jeep rubicon that never seen anything beyond a fire trail.

I don't believe these are meant to be waterproof outer layers, more like a mid-layer with some water resistance. They do have the hoody version on the site too if you're interested

Got the same jacket from the recent Patagonia direct sale a week or two ago, love the updated style.

I've bought skis and boots from Evo before and they've been great.

Why no hoody ? Cause human's head is naturally water repellent? For any waterproof/repellent jacket, hoody/foldable hoody is a must.

Why not for cold weather? Eddie Bauer 600 fills work for -20. Then what problem with this?

These are lightweight, windproof, and water resistant. Not waterproof. The outer fabric is only 10d which means is really thin and can easily be torn if snagged on something.

This is a different jacket than the nano puff. I have both and found the micro puff is warmer and lighter (so easier to stuff away). Love that both are super light, especially when you're walking for hours on the trail. Only thing about both jackets are that the chest/neck area is really tight (kinda uncomfortable) if you're fully zipped up.
