It's worked with gift cards in the past before , just use a desktop, or wait on datapoints from people after they try it
I can but knowing Amex and its RAT team, I just don't want clawbacks months later.

Transitioning fully to a gig economy sounds like nightmare fuel unless we offer better pay and benefits that aren't tethered to your employer.
That would have to be a core component of such a transition. And, given that most people don't work for the same company all their working lives anyone and that companies continue to cut pay, benefits and hours, this might actually fix much of that, if done right.

Delta doesn't have a so called mandate. They just deduct $50 from payroll a week for the unjabbed.
Unless those idiots are all in some back office and not dealing with customers, I'm not flying Delta.

You're essentially describing the gig economy, but for everything. Which, in theory, I don't have a problem with since it allows people a lot of flexibility in how they structure their relationship between life and work.

But there are serious unresolved labor rights issues that haven't been resolved in the driving/delivery/other spaces that need to be resolved before every company in the US decides to turn all their employees into contractors.
Agreed. But there are serious problems with the permanent employee economy too and they're getting worse, so, done right, this might solve many of those. I've always found the idea of working for the same company your whole life to be weird and constricting, unless it's one of those rare ideal employers, like Costco, of which there's aren't many anymore. And even then, change is good now and then. Of course, families, mortgages, reality...

No go on any of my AMEX. Sucks too because I just booked a Delta flight, and having $100 or $125 off would have been nice.

TU regardless.

+1, see it on my personal Amex Plat. But I wouldn't be surprised if they excluded people who had Delta as their airline for incidentals since there's a clear loyalty to Delta already there.
I have Delta as designated airline and do not have this offer on AP

I agree. Disconnecting benefits would lead to more mobility and a more entrepreneurial working class, making for a healthier overall economy.

Unfortunately, a lot of businesses here rely on that lack of mobility and the fear of losing things like health insurance to keep employees underpaid and unlikely to lead. It also leads to taking more jobs out of desperation, which is always better for the owners' short-term outlook.

tl;Dr: It would be great for the American economy, but there are too many people in power who have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are because it's profitable for their business model.

Does anyone know how many travel credit's from previously cancelled flights you can apply to a single ticket? I have around 10 but they're all 150-250 in value, can I combine them all?

So that's how Delta climbed to profitability this quarter, by selling credit at half price...

One, and on the same purchase you can no longer use any gift cards, so must pony up the rest in cash to Delta.

There's also the reality that most people probably prefer a single long-term job for the security, whether real or imagined, so chances are that only a large minority of workers would be ok with or even prefer to have "portable" jobs. Thing is, they probably also tend to be the smartest, most creative, innovative and hard-working workers, and such volatility/flexibility probably suits them and keeps them from getting stagnant. We don't need and I don't expect there to be a 100% transition to a portable workplace economy, but 30-50% isn't that unreasonable someday, I think. We don't need one size fits all. Rather, several sizes fit different types.
