I see multiple reviews of rusting on Amazon. Any signs of rust on yours? Maybe something related to maintenance?
Mine doesn't show any rust. It might be from people that aren't using it daily and letting water sit in it for extended periods? Only time it wasn't used for any length of time in our house was a 10 day vacation we took, and I emptied and dried the inside of the kettle before we left.
Depending on impurities in the water, this may also facilitate rust depending on the makeup of the steel. Stainless steels are still vulnerable to rust in some cases, some moreso than others (there are exceptions like LC200N, H1 and Vanax Super Clean which are basically rustproof but still susceptible to caustics like heavy chlorine (talking baou tpool tablets, not pool water).
Perhaps that is why it recommends using only purified water, as it is less likely to have iron and other elements that might interact with the makeup of what is likely a cheap stainless steel (and said stainless may well be less resistant of corrosion than something a little higher-end)
Great looking kettle, looks easy to use and I like having a separate base as opposed to my old plastic kettle with an electric cord attached. It still works so I might keep it upstairs and keep this out in the kitchen. The reviews are very positive and the price seems reasonable. Looking forward to trying it.
