For an actual phone call they're just okay. The microphone quality kind of sucks but it is passible and most people will not care too much about that quality.
For Voip calls (any voice call over the internet) the quality does get a noticeably better, but it's never as good as high quality headset with a nice microphone. It still sounds much better than a typical laptop webcam microphone for meetings though.
For music, the audio quality, noise cancellation, and bass is absolutely incredible. I can wear these for four plus hours without any discomfort.
The one major gripe I have about it is actually a small gripe. If you ever wish to make calls you must use the right ear piece. If you ever wish to just have a single earpiece in general, you still need the right earpiece to have connected and or have the earbuds box open nearby.
You can think of it as a Master slave configuration. The right earbud is the master and needs to be the main earbud. The left one does not really work if you wish to use the left one only and tuck away the right one inside the charging box.
this won't really be a problem for anybody who uses both earbuds at the same time. if you always use both earbuds then you won't notice that the right earbud is the master and the left ear bud is the slave.
Having said that, I still us my Jabras more often as they are lighter and easier to just stick in my ears quickly. The Comply tips are great but you still need to squeeze and roll them before putting in your ears in order for the foam to expand and seal properly in your ears.

The XM3's sounded amazing and noise canceling was superb too (bose is quite similar in both regards) but the fit was absolutely awful for me. Hurt like hell and fell out of my ear.
Obviously YMMV with how each pair of buds fit but the Bose certainly fit better for me and sound just as good imo.

I wonder if the new XM4 buds are any better in terms of comfort and fit for my type of ear. Because my original intention was to grab the latest Sony buds to pair with my XM4 headphones which I absolutely love.
