12/3/21: For posterity after the fact...
This particular model uses a soldered 4gb 3200mhz chip, and an 8gb sodimm 3200mhz chip. You can put a single 16gb sodimm and you will get 20gb ram without problem. Because of the 4gb soldered chip, you will only get 4gbx4gb of dual-channel performance, but the remaining 12gb of the second chip will be addressable at single-channel speeds. I have done this so I know it works.
32gb: I don't have personal knowledge of this, but there is potential the motherboard could support 32gb chips, so you could get 40gb total, though I'd be surprised if anybody actually needed that much RAM on a laptop with these specs.

I never said to not buy because it uses ZEN2 vs ZEN3 architecture.
However, a casual buyer would not realize this fact unless pointed out.
