About this deal:
Our research indicates that this offer is $79.02 lower (24% savings) than the next best available price from a reputable merchant with prices starting from $329.
I've been watching these for awhile. Didn't think they would come back in stock but they did. They look to be identical to the NordicTrack adjustable dumbbells on Amazon that are $329. Weider is owned by the same parent company as NordicTrack so they are probably just rebranded.
I own the Nordictrack ones (have had them since February and use them 3-4x per week). You are correct, these do look identical (except for color).
I am extremely happy with my pair. I'm one of the verified reviewers on the Nordictrack page, and stand by every word of my review in there. Here are some additional really quick pros/cons:
PRO:
- Metal, knurled grip feels good.
- Metal plates
- Feels solid
- Love having the incremental adjustments of 2.5 & 5 lb; shame you can't get the 7.5 lb increment, but not a huge deal
- Length of the dumbbell decreases/increases depending on the weight; much better than the Bowflex style, which carries the full length regardless of how much weight
CON:
- Occasionally the selector pin can be finicky; it's never gotten loose, but sometimes you have to jiggle it to get it to move from one plate to the next. Not a huge deal.
- There is no label on the small incremental slider; you need to figure out your own method for tracking whether you are adding 0, 2.5, or 5 lb increments. Again, no big deal.
- Because the smaller incremental weights are u shaped, the weights get slightly off-balance when you add 2.5 or 5 lb, especially if the total weight is low. Again, not a big deal for me.
- Be picky about the quality of the delivery. My first order got completely trashed and was broken. Had to send back to Amazon and re-order. Second delivery was pristine. These types of deliveries get passed across many vehicles and hands, and I honestly feel awful for the delivery people, especially when it gets damaged/needs to be returned.
- They are too big (as are almost all adjustable weights) to stash on the back of a Peloton or other spin bike.
- As with all adjustable weights, they should be treated more gently than a solid weight; no dropping.
Overall, I'm super happy with mine, but understand the nitpicks that other folks have. But if you are in the market for a small yet flexible set of adjustable weights, these are a great choice.
Seems like a good deal... if your rough on your weights I would go with powerblocks. Also Powerblocks EXP are expandable up to 90 lbs, only nock is they are a bit more awkward than circular weights, but if that doesn't bother you I highly recommend Powerblocks.
