They need to just make a greatest hits line and leave them at this price (or even better, lower).

This is why I hate nintendo consoles. This game 4 years old and 40 dollar is a special deal. Smh

Maybe they will in a year or two and bring back the Nintendo Selects line. It would be nice but the thing is if games just keep selling anyway then it sort of kills their impetus to do so. Reportedly, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for example just keeps selling like gangbusters even years later.

I would tend to agree but BOTW at best of best scenarios will go to $30 and that will most likely be some doorbuster sale practically impossible to get. $40 is usually the BF price point on Nintendo Switch games. I myself am waiting for Mario 3D World to hit $40.

Nintendo, the only company I have confidence in buying games from as you don't lose much value.

Never played BOTW, but wanting to eventually. I'm concerned about the sequel coming out, and then this being a wasted deal when I have time to play the whole series. Legit concern? Or is this just worth buying now while cheap?
You should most definitely play this. The sequel's story will make a lot more sense.

$15 would be a doorbuster
$20 should be its current value right now...
$40 is Nintendo still milking it to fund BOTW2...
$60 is still possible for this game because it truly is the very best Nintendo game ever, but I am still throwing shades at Nintendo for charging this much as of late ...

Again, the $20 you spend is mostly gone if you want to trade in but the $40 you get most of it back. So, if you are buying and keeping you are right but if you are trading in I think the Nintendo ends up being cheaper
Yeah, but if you don't want to trade them in, and you rely on sales of old titles to be more reasonably priced, then this is not a very good option.

Another issue, if you don't like Zelda titles, or you've never tried one, but the hype makes you want to, then the price will deter you from doing that.
