Since there are a lot of people (including me) who have been to locations where they have no idea how to scan the QR code (and made me pay by credit card instead), I wanted to share the locations here:
Cashier did not know how to get the QR code to work:
CA - Sacramento 1802 19th St.
Cashier was successful in scanning QR code:
please add your locations here (state first, then city)

Not sure anyone in the last thread ever found an employee that knew how to bring up the QR code for them to scan... I was going to wait until near the end, so hopefully by then, at least someone will know how to do it. Some of the fast food places here still don't seem to know how their own mobile app orders work.
Not sure what the last thread was about but in this deal you bring up the QR code on your PayPal app to pay with when paying in-store. All the employee has to do is scan the QR with their reader.
Might give this a try this weekend.

Did you see it when logged into your Paypal account on the website or in the App before trying it?
I didnt see anything. I went to a Panda Express that I know participates in promos most of the time. There's been other Venmo advertised/QR code promos that have worked with PayPal in the past like CVS. I also saw this deal posted elsewhere on a Facebook group and a deal/coupon site, so I knew it was pretty legit. But just like other franchises, not every restaurant will participate. This deal is a month old. Here's the original deal on SD. https://slickdeals.net/f/15289408-venmo-pay-qr-code-offers-cvs-10-back-w-20-purchase-panda-express-10-back-w-10-purchase-more-in-store-w-app-only
Note: I did not do the Venmo deal, so if you used Venmo in the past, the Venmo deals through the PayPal app might not work for you.
Instructions for Venmo:
10 of Free Food at Panda Express, Must pay with Venmo in-store to get the $10 off
Open Venmo app, if you don't have an account yet you can make one here. Venmo is a payment app owned by Paypal
Click the icon on the bottom right hand side (the person with dollar sign
Click the settings cog on the top right corner
Scroll down to "offer & memberships" located under the buying section
Click Find More offers under the scan offer button
Scroll through the offers on the top, the Panda Express should be the last one EDIT: Since this deal is just over a month old, it'll now be one of the first offers when scrolling through.
Click QR CODE on the top right of the icon, then click Pay with QR Code
Make a purchase of $10 or more in the restaurant and you will get $10 off automatically and it will charge you only the amount over $10

When you're logged in and click on OP's link, do you see the ad for the $10 off Panda? I see it there, but I don't see it in the deal sections where other offers show up
They scanned my PayPal qr code and nothing. Had to use my credit card. Smh. Not going to fall for these kind of deals anymore. 😒
When I did it for Venmo, it wasn't a $10 instant off deal but rather took a couple of days for the $10 to show up in the account. May be a similar type of situation
Odd behavior. I see the $10 offer on my Paypal account online but not on the mobile app. Anyone else have this behavior? I logged off, reinstalled the mobile app, logged in with un/pw - still the same. As folks have pointed out - you cannot save this offer. I guess I will try the QR payment code and see what happens
Worked great. Just had to show my barcode from PayPal app. They scanned. Money got out of my linked credit card and got $10 credited into PayPal balance. Was instant!
Did you have this offer in your PayPal wallet or under deals?

I just logged into PayPal on my browser(mobile) and clicked the deal link. The deal page loaded. No clarity if it was available for my account until I took my chances and fortunately it worked.

What did you tell the Cashier when scanning QR code? I went to Panda Express and they said they don't have any way of paying with QR code. I asked him to scan, he tried and said nothing happened. I had to then use my credit card and pay normally.
So I ended up paying for $13.xx for the a meal that I was just doing for the deal, and clearly no $10 credit unfortunately.

Ah man that sucks! I just told him I want to use PayPal to pay. I logged into my mobile and chose the QR code icon and then 'show to pay' section. There you find a QR code and barcode. My Panda Express guy just used the barcode reader(the red light emitting device) he had on the counter and scanned. He asked if it's Venmo and I said Paypal. Regardless both should work with that I think. Transaction went through the second time he tried.
Just tried it, the restaurant had a sign specifically saying they accept pay pay and Venmo, but the cashier couldn't get it to work. In the end the manager paid for the meal. Felt a little bad but great customer service!

Thanks. I'm aware of payment with Paypal using QR code. I died that in CVS earlier. However this guy at Panda Express refused to use the QR code. He half tried the scan and then just told me it doesn't work.
It's kind of embarrassing in a restaurant to hold up the line for payment. So I had to pay with credit card. Maybe another location of Panda Express would do it right - I guess. This should be a YMMV deal as it is location specific.
Thanks for the detailed steps. Glad it worked for you!
Does this work if you did Venmo pay with the cvs promo in the past? The panda offer did show up for me but I didn't get 10 back just used it
I did the Venmo $10 Panda Express last month, and got $10 from Venmo in a few days. I did the Paypal $10 Panda Express (bought a $10 GC) just now, and immediately got an email saying I earned $10, and the $10 was in my Paypal account!

Yeah I was nervous about holding up the line. It was very busy this noon and had a backup credit card in my other hand to swipe quick if PayPal failed. I was relieved when it worked. Although PayPal said nothing about the offer and I was charged full on my credit card. I thought to myself the offer wasn't on my account but then saw an email about the credit and to my surprise PayPal wallet had $10. Good luck next time.
Panda Express isn't even franchised, it's fully corporate, so there's no reason for them to be having this much trouble other than extreme incompetence somewhere at the mid-tier management that is not rolling out the equipment and training for this kind of thing.
