Since there are a lot of people (including me) who have been to locations where they have no idea how to scan the QR code (and made me pay by credit card instead), I wanted to share the locations here:
Cashier did not know how to get the QR code to work:
CA - Sacramento 1802 19th St.
Cashier was successful in scanning QR code:
please add your locations here (state first, then city)

Not sure anyone in the last thread ever found an employee that knew how to bring up the QR code for them to scan... I was going to wait until near the end, so hopefully by then, at least someone will know how to do it. Some of the fast food places here still don't seem to know how their own mobile app orders work.
Not sure what the last thread was about but in this deal you bring up the QR code on your PayPal app to pay with when paying in-store. All the employee has to do is scan the QR with their reader.
Unlike the venmo promo, with this paypal promo I received the $10 back almost instantly!
The best deal I could find for $10 is a 2 entre plate plus a small appetizer. Or just a large a la carte entre. Also, check out the back of your receipt - you go to panda's website and fill out a quick survey about your experience there and you'll be able to get a free small entre on your next visit if you buy a 2 entre plate. So essentially if you did this already, you can get a 2 entre plate, a small entre and a small appetizer for about a dollar once you factor in tax and receive your $10 from PayPal.
If this is any indication of how PayPal and Venmo will work it sounds like they've already lost. Apple Pay is as reliable as it gets.
Ppl in China use Alipay/wechat pay with QR code. You can use it everywhere, for street food, on the bus for bus ticket etc. it's beyond the imagination of many people here in comparison how inconvenient Apple Pay is. Hopefully we are getting there.
It worked for me but not my spouse. Neither of us used the QR code prior to this. The only two difference was I used a PayPal balance that I had and ordered inside the store while my spouse didn't have a PayPal balance so it pulled from the bank account and ordered drive through. I immediately got the $10 credit from PayPal and 6 hours later, nothing for my spouse.
Yes. I bought a $10 GC at Panda Express & got the $10 from Paypal immediately. I did not have a Paypal balance & Paypal pulled the $ from my linked Chase Freedom visa. I also did the $10 Venmo deal for Panda Express last month, but Venmo's $10 took like 4 days before I got it.
After I paid and left the store, I noticed cashier charged me $1.50 for a $1.95 appetizer that left me 30 cents under the $10 for this deal ( it was over 10 with tax). You think she did this knowing about this Paypal deal? Does discount come out of Panda funds?
Does the $10 include tax? Will a $9.70 bigger plate + tax > $10 be eligible?
I don't see why not. These types of offers usually count the transaction, rather than the separate charges in one order. They said, if you're worried about it…guess you could add an egg roll, cream cheese wontons, or upgrade one of your entrees to a premium. I always choose one as walnut shrimp for an extra 1.25 anyways, so this wouldn't be an issue for me.

Did you see the offer on your PayPal prior to doing the offer? I'm not seeing anything about it on my account.
It appears you need to have received the email to qualify for the VENMO offer: "Eligible participant: Open only to individuals who; (4) receive an authorized email inviting participation in the offer"
But this doesn't apply for the PayPal offer. Anyone over 18 with an account should be good to go.

For Venmo you don't need to receive the offer. It will show up on the offer tab, even if it doesn't, based on the CVS one, should work.
I didn't receive email on my Venmo acct and got the rebate fine.
For PayPal I'm not sure if I could get it without adding the offer, can't see it on my acct deal section so I won't risk it. For the CVS PayPal QR offer I did not add the offers to my acct and still got my $10. (But that's back last year when the offer first released and since then some folks are having problems not getting it without adding)
Based on the CVS offer and data points from forums, Venmo rebates come a few days after purchase. PayPal should be instant.
