It's the same as last year's 55S20 just more expensive

Expect BF sales to be worse than last year as retailers make up for losses and damages from 2020
Just saw on the news this am, that walmart + subscribers get the first 4 hours on BF sales before non members.
Yes Walmart+ (Those who Paid $98 a year) get a couple hour early access compared to anyone else for their online orders. Just another Subscription Scam similar to Best Buy's $199 Total Tech Subscription Scam to be able to buy in demand items. As for Best Buyers I find it's actually funny because you used to have to be a Silver member to get early access and now BB is screwing them over to give access to the $199 TT users. If it goes well enough you can bet BB will come up with a $399-$499 Platinum Concierge Service next!

Those $150 deals were like powerball chance. Unrealistic. One would sleep like 4 days in a tent on line and then get trampled. So many hoops to jump through. In the year of 2021, everything has greatly inflated in price and that goes for electronics like TV. The shipping containers import cost is insane like 10× more. Unrealistic to expect $158 in 2021.
this.

the fact that i could buy it online, and it was brought curbside to my car is worth the extra money during a pandemic. plus never having to do the old style bf.

honestly the cost increase is still primarily the fact that logistics are hosed worldwide currently poster hit it perfect

I have a 65 C8 OLED as my main TV but wanted something bigger for another room in the house and honestly this is a pretty quality TV for that. I will still be watching the OLED primarily but I put on a 4K HDR movie and was impressed by PQ even with all the lights on in the room in the middle of the afternoon. Could do a lot worse for $230, I'm glad I purchased so far. Also the TV is light enough that I could assemble and move it around myself.

I like this TV and here are some reasons. It's UHD screen, plenty of bright to me. Bought 5 yr warranty at $39. Sound of this TV is surprisingly good, had a Vizio 43 from 4 years ago, that did require a sound bar.

That's the problem with cheaper 4k TVs, not really bright enough for HDR. A few years ago it wasn't as big of a deal because there wasn't too much of that content (you were stuck watching 720p content for the most part). But now, it's pretty much the norm. Going forward it just seems like wasting $ getting a TV with poor HDR. Like I said in a previous post, would be great to see deals on this size with the TCL 6 series but I'm not holding my breath. The way things are going with pricing, even if a deal comes along it probably wont seem like much of a deal.
In the perfect unrealistic world, getting a TCL 55" 6-series with suggested retail price at $949.99 with like 75% discount for only $228 would be GREAT but we gotta to be realistic. Nobody really expects like 75% off deals especially nowadays with prices skyrocketing for almost everything. Right now, Best Buy and Walmart is selling the 6 series ON SALE for $699.99 (retail price at $949.99). That is $472 more than this 4 series deal... Would I prefer a 6 series over a 4 series? Sure but I am realistic and don't expect a 75% off deal on the 6 series anytime soon or black friday. For me a huge downside of the 6 series compared to the 4 series is the 6 series looks terrible with 480p DVD quality. I have a huge collection of my burned dvd quality movies on my hard drives. The 4 series does a much better job with DVD quality movies than the 6 series. This may not be a con for people who don't watch DVDs anymore but I still watch 480p DVD quality movies and still rent DVDs on redbox/library.

I know prices are garbage right now, but if you look a few posts back you'll see I mentioned that a similar deal on a 6 series for around $100 more than this would be hot IMO, this not so much so. Luke warm deal at best. As far as you're upscaling issue, it sounds like you have a setting off between the two because I seriously doubt that image processing is stronger on the 4 series just by chance LOL. You pay a lot more for TVs with good upscaling capabilities (I know - that's why I went with a Sony for my main TV/the Vizio I had in its place before was utter garbage with DVDs and much OTA content). I would check and compare settings like sharpness and digital noise reduction and see if they line up. And sometimes even having the color cranked up too high can make SD content look like crap. May even be as simple as turning gaming mode off on your 6 series as that disables most image processing.

Had mine scheduled for store pick up but was "delayed". Went into the store anyway and they had it in the pick up section ready. The sticker says it was ready since 2 days ago. So idk if if someone was trying to keep it or what but they had a bunch in the back too. If your walamrt is not far I'd go check it out

Not sure but the driver is in an Accord and is about 15 mins away. I'll let you guys know what it is but when I went to the store to try and pick it up yesterday the employee said they use Uber.

Read rtings review on the 6 series about how horrible 480p looks on the 6 series. It has lots of trouble converting 480p. The TV is great but 480p is trash.

According to slickdeals search, I see the 6 series deal in December for $578. Lot more than 4 series. If there was ever $328 deal, I would pay the extra. If it is one of those Walmart powerball deals, I am 1 for 100 with those. Link source? I do see a very rare Costco for 55R613 model clearance (2018 model) 1 thumb up deal in June 2020 for $350 but that was a YMMV. Another poster said they sold out of them everywhere when they had the $400 deal. I see the best walmart deal at $400 in February 2020. Long time ago.

You originally ordered for store pickup or shipping?

I ordered for shipping and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday but the "Delayed" status showed up yesterday morning. It was delivered by Uber in a SUV a couple minutes ago. The driver had an Accord and showed up at Walmart but it wouldn't fit so he had to come back with his other bigger car to pickup the TV. Walmart doesn't show what item the drivers are picking up so many of the drivers will have problems fitting this TV in their car.

Nah they just didn't have way to deliver it. It won't fit in many folks car. I had to take mine out box like previous poster said to do. Ended up with nice tv for $30 lol
