The TV does indeed have great brightness with great blacks, but the software implementation leaves a lot to be desired. You can read the reviews on BB to know that my issues were not isolated and other people are experiencing more/other issues. From random shutdowns that required completely unplugging the TV to get it back on, Netflix not working properly and constant flickering on regular TV. The TV also felt incredibly sluggish like the processor and internals were not capable of handling everything. I will mention that I also own the TCL 435 series running Android TV and that TV has been working like a champ for few months and looking great. I really like that TV which is what made me look forward to the new 646. This TV looks great on the outside and when you turn it on the picture quality does look great, but the software implementation is really lacking. I will add that this is not a Google TV/Android TV issue as my other TCL as well as the Sony X90j that I got after this TV both run great. As an aside, and this is just my opinion, I much prefer the picture on the X90j even though the TCL had better blacks. In any event, I really wanted to like this TV and waited for months to get it, but I like my new things to work well out of the box and don't like hoping that at some point down the line the item will work as intended. I'm also not a fan of spending time on the phone with tech support so I'd rather return and get something that works.

Editing my comment as a couple people have mentioned that the Roku doesn't have the same set of features such as HDMI 2.1. Very important to note. Thanks guys!

*Anyone who claims to hate Android TV (slow/glitchy )should try it using Nvidia Shield.
