This is very YMMV - I was out looking for a new TV and stopped by BestBuy today (1/1/22). They had an open box "Excellent" 65 inch TCL 646 on the website for $799. I stopped by the Denver West (Colorado) store to look at it - it was $699 instead of $799. I picked it up but they also had many other open box TVs in the store. E.g., 65 inch Vizio Class M Quantum for $429, 65 inch Samsung Q60A for $807. The Denver West store also had a nice 65 inch Sony X950H. It was on a floor model. The picture was great for an LCD. It was $715 and website shows it as "Fair". There was some damage to the stand but the screen was perfect. (Also, no remote). There are some open box 65 inch X950H "Excellents" in Greeley and Ft. Collins for $850.

If you're looking for TCL series 6, there are other 65 inch TCL 646 Open Box in various conditions from $699-$799 up and down the front range. You may want to stop by the store instead of purchasing on line. As I mentioned, the open box "Excellent" on the website was $100 cheaper in store. If you're in Colorado, it looks like there are many other open box models available. I don't know what other areas look like - so you would need to check your local BestBuy.

Be very careful on the TCL 646. I bought 2 of them on Black Friday to hook to gaming rigs. Both would drop signal when running 4k @ 120hz about once a minute. When running 4k @ 60hz, it only happened every 5 minutes. Gaming is impossible on these things. Also, unless they release an update, the Google TV is not usable. I'm not talking about minor things that seem petty, it's almost everything. App crashes, lockups, black screens, slow responses, no responses.

TLDR; Best buy pulled them off the shelves for a reason (see above). I don't know how they are selling them now.

Edit: FYI, used a non cert cable, a cert cable and finally an optical cable. It's not a cable issue.

TCL came out with an update mid December for the issues. I just got a 75 646 and it seems to be working flawlessly

I also read the firmware update fixed many of the issues. I've been playing Rainbow for the past few hours on the 646 that I just picked up. It's been running great. It's been holding -- 120 FPS at 4K. Google TV also has been working great. No issues with it -- at least so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Love my old TCL, and I see an open box one is available near me, but refuse to buy another as long as they use Google TV. Very much prefer Roku OS.

There are many open box TCL's R646s out there
The Sony X950H is a very solid all around TV...its going to be harder to find, especially if it has any accessories included with it
