People in here are completely missing that the point of this lens is it's size - yes, there are lenses from third parties and Sony with faster apertureā€¦ but they are bigger. Defeats the whole point of Sony adding these.

There are very few lenses that match this quality and size - though there are cheaper compact lenses, if you're ok with a quality compromise.

I really want the 20, 1.8 even though my preferred focal length is 50-85. I hate wanting lenses.

I see a lot of people here wanting 1.8. The Samyang 24 f1.8 is the same price. No one will know a difference unless you're a pro and I still would like to see them accurately pick which picture is from which lens. Sony glass is great if you don't have a budget. If you do, look at third party lens makers. Tamron lenses are great alternatives too.
