Thanks and repped! I have the UGREEN USB 3.0 Hub 4 Ports and it's worked perfectly for months with my portable external 5TB HDD connected to my desktop PC.

If you want to use a monitor you need to use a USB-C DP or Thunderbolt. The first supports up to dual 1080p but only Thunderbolt supports more and it's very expensive, like $150-$250 for a hub, and yes I said that correctly

Despite this comment, I still don't quite understand the purpose of on/off switches on USB hubs. Could someone explain?
