You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Good luck!

Doesn't Mint have TMO activation policy? I don't know one way or the other but vaguely remember reading about that. Can anyone chime in if a TMO sim works in a Mint iphone?
Just looking at Mint unlock policy.

"Customers must have had their locked device activated on Mint Mobile service for no fewer than 12 months and not have had their telephone number recycled or ported."

Yeah, I was shocked when they told me that.

When they got home, their old phone did not work, so I kind of suspected the BB guy( very nice btw) activated for them. But they told me the phone was not even opened.

Luckily I helped them moved the app/data over, plugged in the new SIM given by BB, voila, the new phone worked( on the old line).
So basically the old SIM card stopped working because it had been updated by BB reps with the new SIM card, but the phone itself still not activate.

That helps. So basically use TM for 40 days(worst case) and get it unlocked from them before returning to mint.

Tried to take advantage of this but got the error related to not being able to see the T-Mobile charges and wasn't able to continue. Spent an hour on the phone with t-mobile support who couldn't figure out what the issue was.

Anyone with T-Mobile Business uising Tax Id able to do the deal on Best Buy?

I enter my phone number and last 4 of my Tax Id and it errors out. I confirmed I'm entering the correct information. I even tried with my SSN but still got the error

"Something's wrong. The phone number and last 4 of SSN combination you entered doesn't match carrier records. Please try again."

Slightly OT. I ordered a verizon phone (iphone 13 deal going right now) on walmart and got the phone today and sim card in separate package. I am trying to activate the phone with the sim card provided and it wouldnt activate at all. Is there a number to dial to activate? Verizon CSR is closed today and I need it activated to add more lines in the account first this tomorrow morning in-store Frown

ETA - I dont even know the phone number for this account. I signed up a new account and asked for new number (so no porting)

When they are done with the paperwork and if you see them try to open the box, tell them stop. Most reps that I dealt with just handed me the phone. If rep asks you if you need help with activation, just said NO and you will do that at home. Also tell them that it is easy to activate at home by going into TM account and update the SIM card, then they just hand you the phone.
trying to understand this, sorry first time doing this. If we manage to not have the phone activated at the store by BB, could we then just pop in any SIM from any carrier and activate for that network (meaning we could then immediately cancel TMO postpaid plan) ?

Yes, on your first part of the question

For immediately cancel TMo plan... that I don't know. Some others here have asked the same question.

I can confirm the other way around . My T-Mobile locked phone picked up signals when mint and Tello sim was inserted. When I tried ting , the sim restrictions popped up as expected . Of course this is with phone still being locked to T-Mobile

This is where the grey area is. As per the recent flex policy the device gets locked to the first sim inserted, but if MVNO sims are inserted, meaning mint mobile or so , they technically don't lock the devices and in this case how the phone unlock process at later point would work . Either the phone gets locked to the parent T-Mobile network which mint uses for service or mint coordinates the unlocking process ( highly unlikely ) or the device never gets locked to mint at all. The second situation is if you insert T-Mobile SIM card where the device gets locked to T-Mobile , you will have mixed experience. Either the tforce Will unlock the device within a week or so depends on your luck or they will give you hard time to retain the service for 40 days. In the happy path situation where you manage to get the device unlock within a week with T-Mobile , the next question is can you immediately cancel the T-Mobile service without any future consequences.. to the last part again there is no clear answer unless someone who already cancelled the service immediately after unlock chimes in . In either case this deal isn't too old for any one to witness what really could happen with T-Mobile if someOne immediately cancels the service before their 40 days or 90 days usage policy .

I am thinking about upgrading from 12 pro max to 13 pro max. Have a few questions.

I am the account holder but the phone is for my wife who is on my plan. Can she pick up the phone without me present. I assume once i log in to the cart and authenticate and buy the phone I am no longer needed?

How long does Best Buy give you to pick up the phone once it's in? Right now its backordered and it says December 17th estimated. But i will be travelling a lot in December so we may not be around once Best Buy is ready for us. Might take us a week or two get to the right store as we will be travelling to and from Florida often in December. If they tell me estimated pickup date is Dec 17th, I could technically get it on the 22nd but can't get it sooner as I won't be in the state. What happens if they get the phone faster, do i have to get it faster?

One more question, when does this deal expire? If I buy the phone to pick up in Florida for example with an estimated Dec 17th date, if my local Best Buy in NY has stock can I do the pickup in NY and get the same deal, even if the deal is then expired?

TIA.
