You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

No problem. The customer service rep waived the $30 activation fee and $10 sim card fee (without me even asking).

Do you know for sure that you'll be eligible for an upgrade with this plan? I wonder if that's what the $20 upgrade fee is? Did you just get a new number?

Has anyone else successfully upgraded using this plan? I just saw the previous post about this working with all plans.

Just coming back from in-store, we can trade in and get the phone from store, but line has to be activated in the store. They need to verify your account eligibilit to upgrade or add a new line to hand over the phone.

I am not on tmobile and I did not want to get a line with hard credit check for a phone I'm buying outright. So I walked out. I confirmed with store agent, they don't need to start the phone or insert tmobile Sim, but line has to be added to an existing or new tmobile account.

i thought of using my friend account details, but I was also told that TMobile will charge $30 upgrade fee and I wonder if one of his line upgradability will be effected if I used his details.
