You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Good luck!

Hi Everyone,

If you are in California, you're supposed to be charged on the price of the phone, not accounting for any trade-in value.

Those that traded their phones in-store and weren't charged the full price minus the $200 added promo got lucky!

So, tax on 999.99, meaning, I'll have to pay additional tax at the counter, correct? Currently they have charged 62 which like tax on $800

It does not mention any distinction between in-store vs online. Maybe BB or T-mobile or both will have to eat the sales tax later due to some system glitch.

It seems like another stores are in stock. Thinking of doing it in-store instead of the online order ready for pick up to save like $60 on taxes. Do I've to cancel the online order at that store before I can trade-in at a different store or at the same store?

Edit: Have to cancel one order before I can in-store order.

Sorry, but you have multiple orders to upgrade the same line or phone number. You can cancel your pending orders by logging into your BestBuy.com account

Based on how many CA reports got taxed on difference only in store, it doesn't sound like luck. Best Buy has only been taxing on difference in store for as long as I can remember (as far back as the early 2000s).

Anyone else get an error online in T-Mobile setup phase with "Please try again we had an issue, but it should be fixed now."

Guess it's not fixed because regardless of when or how many times I try I face it again.
Same issue all day

Yep confirmed. Picked up my phone yesterday, activated immediately, submitted unlock request just now on Twitter. The tforce guy just asked for my BB receipt because he didn't find the phone in the system.
was this a pre-paid plan?

Nope. It was the $20 unlimited talk/text plan, which is only available by signing up via phone. Check out my post history, that should clear things up.

No need to worry about who pay the tax differences.

1. Online order full tax on $1000

2. In-store, $1000-trade in value, the remain is taxed.

I have done both, that is how I know.

You can decide which one is less or easier for you.

Keep the online order for now. If you can find another store of your phone choice, get the deal there, then cancel.

Sorry, but you have multiple orders to upgrade the same line or phone number. You can cancel your pending orders by logging into your BestBuy.com account

Such is a known issue with BB once you cancel an order, they will not allow you to place another one. We talked about it here for several days. And it is known within other online forums.

Now your best bet is to find a local store with stock.

There's an option cancel online and that's even not working according to dtmamg. Best bet is try in-store to trade-in if it goes through then cancel the online order or let it auto cancel pass pickup expiry date.

If you put in VZ sim first.. it will locked to VZ then you will have to contact VZ to get it unlock, because it's their property now.
Same thing with ATT and TM.
Even though I agree that the first sim you put in will lock the device to that carrier, I doubt it'd work for VZW because these phones are GSM for T-mobile wherein VZW are CDMA
