You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

To unlock using ATT method, do we need to input our personal information to the ATT unlock website as mentioned in the wiki?
What if we use made-up stuff so that ATT later cannot track you for the specific device? Will that work, any thoughts?

Granted I have not read all 4,800 posts here. So if this has been asked and answered, I am sorry.

About the AT&T unlock method, I wonder if you used a Verizon sim instead of AT&T, as a first simcard in a brand new phone, wouldn't it automatically be unlocked because Verizon activations are not carrier locked? Or am I mistaken? Anyone with experience?

I don't think a 7+ will get you much as far as trade in values to T-Mobile. Not sure what exactly you are trying to do.

Do you want to fully pay a newer device with trade in or do you want to do a trade in with eip credits?

If you have 3 lines, you can open 2 lines with new phones for the $720 and an additional one with BYOD, once you have the account, you can trade in the 7+ at Best Buy and get the 3rd phone with a discount.

This has not been the case for a couple of years now, Verizon now locks phones for 60 days.
