You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Good luck!

They still did this for me last week. Provided IMEIs and Best Buy receipt and they initiated an unlock request with the offline team. Took 2 days and they were unlocked. But I still opened the boxes to confirm under settings.
This was happening regularly back in September. The threads are so big, old and noisy that it is unclear that the "offline team" can still be asked to help. I personally unlocked three phones using TForce Twitter, TForce Facebook and ATT unactivated SIM (which was BY FAR the quickest and easiest).

I've tried reading the wiki, and lots of thread pages, but I can't seem to figure out whether you can trade in more than one device and apply the credit toward the same purchase. E.g, Can I trade in 2x SE 2020s to get $700 toward an iPhone 13 at bestbuy? Thanks!

Any second "trade" would have to be done at $160 for a Best Buy gift card you could use towards the $360 enhanced value trade-in transaction. That was the only scenario where I saw value of multiple phones being applied.

I am assuming, i don't need to activate the line. I can just open it and trade in without porting a number to straight talk. It will save me $185 + $345 for device vs getting $415 for my XS. Not sure how much i will get for selling XS in cg.

Many thanks to those who contributed information to this thread! I went out to the store to get in on this deal and finished setting up the iPhone not long ago. They gave me the phone with the SIM taped to the box so when I got home I simply inserted my AT&T SIM card (As I am currently on an AT&T family plan). The phone is now locked to AT&T as per the settings and I'll send an unlock request shortly.

What am I supposed to do with the T-Mobile account I opened for the phone? I didn't get any paperwork when I left Best Buy, they just gave me the phone and that was the end of it. Will I be able to call and cancel it or since I didn't activate the phone is it automatically deactivated?
Did you submit the unlock request through the link shared here? I know you put your activated AT&T sim and am curious to know how your unlock request goes with activated ATT sim.

OMG. So the last problem I had trying to do stuff at best buy, where it wouldn't recognize my ssn and proceed to buy it- problem was that when i got the line set up at tmobile last night (bypassing previous errors through best buy, since tmobile kept recognizing my account as biz, since the last account I had with tmobile- cancelled 10 yrs ago- had an employer discount), Tmobile never added my social security number on the account. Spent another hour in store asking the ladies to verify that my soc was added correctly and that there was nothing fraud or flagged on it....I guess they were dumb, since I finally got through to tmobile phone help line after trying for 45 minutes when I left the store, and the rep was able to see right away there was no ssn associated with my account.

**if this is you**

What you need to do is when BestBuy prompts you for last 4 of ssn enter "1111". This is the default per tmobile. It works either online or in store.

Now problem is that the best buy rep can't get either my old or new tmobile sim card to work.
I was able to put my visible card in and use my phone immediately...um....is it unlocked?

PLEASE stop deleting my posts- I am sure this will help someone. One guy I talked to on the phone from BestBuy said that A LOT of people are having these problems with Tmobile in the last few days.

Trade In value of iPhone SE (2020) dropped to $150 from $370. The Gen 1 value is still $165, which seems bizarre. I am hoping SE (2020) might change again, but in the other direction like some other values did in the past.

The phone is now locked to Visible for at least 60 days. I tried to get confirmation of automatic unlock but so far, no response to my PM. Someone claimed to have popped in a visible card in late September so they ought to know by now.

PS - the 1111 is a known workaround used by folks who had a secondary phone number on the account and not listed as primary account owner.

Phone is now locked to visible and will follow visible's unlock policy. It's still weird why your phone did not lock itself to TMo when they put in the sim
