You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Good luck!

I've had luck unlocking both 13 PM phones direct messaging T-Force via Twitter. They asked me for the Best Buy receipts. Once they submitted the unlock request it took 2 minutes for the phones to reflect the unlock status. Best part about it is no need to wait on hold and painless.
If we go with EIP, How much time they will take to unlock after clearing the EIP balance?

with att trick if it dosent work...what happens to the device??Can we put att sim or somehow wait for it to be unlocked by att??
U gonna be stuck with locked phone like I do now.If nothing going to change over weekend I would have to go exchange phones to BB which I hope that would work and just request unlock thru T mobile.I have activated and followed instructions from wiki but system is messed up and I can't even request another unlock because it's still Processing and Pending…ridiculous.

If it's truly locked to AT&T postpaid then u need to wait 60 days. Prepaid it's a year

After TM rep submitted the unlock request, it will take couple of days. Some got it unlocked in several minutes luckily. But usually it takes about 3 days.
BTW, some TM reps may ask you to wait for 40 days even though the phone is paid off. YMMV.

AT&T Sim "Trick" worked fine today. 12/9 ~~4pm EST

Edit: Adding Picture so you know I'm not trolling.

You can, in the T-Mobile app, check IMEI for lock status on phones not on your account. This is what I did. Here's the picture of the screen as such.

Edit of Edit: To be clear this is the screen on a Samsung I have hanging about which I popped in the T-Mobile sim for one of the lines on my new plan. The T-Mobile sim never, ever, entered the iPhone Pro Max. Only the ATT sim and only per the wiki instructions.

Alright folks. I picked up my first 13PM yesterday from bestbuy, and went home with T-Mobile sim but did not insert TM sim. The person I am buying the phone for, (in-law) spends half the time in US and half the time abroad. They needed to use their sim which is roaming here in states, but they still could receive texts from abroad etc.

anyhoo, for the unlock part - I did not have the patience to go through apple store or Microsoft store. So I picked up a AT&T prepaid sim from BestBuy for $9.99. I went home and used this inactivated sim and went through steps in Wiki. Like the Wiki states it's instant. Voila, it went from AT&T sim restricted to "No Sim Restrictions". After I confirmed by clicking on the email I received from portal. I did not even have to restart the phone.

Now, I even have the T-Mobile sim inserted and it works well (And it still says unrestricted). I need this line to add one more line for my next phone in order. Once I am done, I will discard both T-Mobile lines, Because both phones are fully paid. Thank you all!!

You can try to place another upgrade order on the same line and then no need to add another line. It used to work some days ago. It might be fixed with more integration between BB and TM. But no harm to try. Smilie

Thanks! Yes, I will try that. Just not sure if it has to be a new BB order, because i get only 600 for 12Mini right now, back then when I placed order it was $630.

T-Mobile doesn't offer a prorated refund - you have to pay for the whole month's service. (You can take advantage of TM Tuesday offers and the free year of Paramount+ (with ads) to recoup some of the value.)
Interesting! I did cancel my account and they refunded my entire bill, though to be fair I only used a couple of minutes and couple hundred megabits of data.

Amm I got few 13 pro max devices for my family and T-mobile unlocked all of them with no issues. Though as many other users reported, it takes around 3-4 days to get it unlocked assuming that you didn't register the device under T-mobile.

If you register and add the device on your T-mobile account then unlocking would be instant. T-mobile rep checked the device then it says eligible to unlock, hit the unlock button and boom.

For those people who don't have Tmobile postpaid accounts then either use ATT method I guess, which its self is not 100% guaranteed.

If we get phone under EIP, we have to pay up all the balance before they unlock it right?

If I'm active ATT Prepaid (not postpaid) customer, can I unlock the phone through ATT unlock page?I mean insert the Activate Prepaid sim card , and use my phone number and account information? I saw most people here either use unactivated sim card or being postpaid customers.
