If you want this RTX GPU for DLSS, great! You won't be disappointed.

But if you're expecting playable ray-tracing, then hoo boy...

Depends on your work really. 8 GB is usable but I'd want at least 16 GB of RAM personally, even for just like MS Teams and office work. Possibly more if using VMs or other development related stuff. The CPU and dedicated graphics seem plenty strong for most work IMHO.

I have this laptop and it's a beauty. It's my introduction into gaming laptops but I'm really enjoying it. Battlefield V is fantastic on it. Smooth and super responsive laptop.

My apologies for lack of info.

Remoting into work system. Using the basic Office programs. Thats about it. Very basic. Just want a laptop with decent speed when opening and navigating the programs.

Then yeah, I would say it's overkill. If you are just remoting in, then I'd get something with longer battery life or other priority (screen? Or not, if you have a dock/dual monitors, etc).

I also don't know if you or work are paying for it. This would be a great machine and sounds like it would definitely work well. Under 1k for these specs (minus ram), and my company would probably be very happy with this cost ha.

Good luck!
