Costco T-Mobile generally gives back tradein value back in visa/master gift card after a month or two. So it is easy for people who want pay upfront rather than waiting for credits over 2 years.

When you trade in to get a new phone with T-Mobile, is the new phone locked? Or is the line just locked?
I tried googling it but didn't get much results. I want to trade in for a new Pixel 6 using my wife's T-Mobile plan, then use the new phone on my Google Fi plan
Appreciate any help!

I would never buy any android phone on launch, they lose their value after 2-3 months.

I had this experience with Previous pixels and Samsung phones.

wait for at least Christmas deals
As someone who nabbed a Pixel 4 by end of year (after its October launch) for half off retail I have no idea why anyone downvotes this accurate concern. I think this deal can be great for the Pixel 6 because the level of exposure is only $100-150 without accounting for the value of the associated trade-in. However, I'm loathe to dump an upgrade and $450 of cash for a Pixel 6 Pro phone whose retail price may well quickly crater within months.

Of my trade-in devices it's time to dump the GS9 ASAP, so using it for the Pixel 6 offer seems a no-brainer. I'm less convinced that this is the best use of my iPhone XS Max trade-ins... but that opinion is also colored by some ridiculous offers that were available earlier this year which simply may not reappear for some time.

Good luck!
Jon

I traded in an old iPhone X to get the iPhone 13 Pro promo, and now wanted to trade my (paid off) S20+ 5G towards the Pixel 6 Pro - if I already have an EIP and am getting the recurring payments towards the iPhone, can I still get the Pixel promo too?

Ya I'm done with T-mobile after my current credit bill. T-mobile is pathetic for trying to force all their long time customers into Max plan.
Yeah T-Mobile sucks. But I have a 10 line simple choice plan with a corporate discount and T-Mobile recently gave all my lines Unlimited data from 4gb high speed cap. So absolutely nobody is going to be anywhere as close to what I pay. $136+ taxes.

When you go through the trade-in screens and select the line with the EIP phone it tells you to pay off the full remaining balance on the phone. It says the amount will be added to your bill.

I am in the same boat. I still owe $600 on an iPhone 12 I got through trade-in promo last year.

I am not sure we will keep receiving the promo payments. Can anyone confirm this? I do not want to loose the promo payments I got for the phone last year. Still have 19 months of about $20/mo promo left.

When you pay it off you still get those credits until the end of the promo I did it to unlock my iPhone mini but never tried to stack another promo on top though

The only difference is nobody is going to give $450 selling on the street my Galaxy S9. Most I could get is $100-150 if lucky. Let's go with even the $150. Makes this phone automatically $300 Off. Which is half off! When T-Mobile has a sale for $499 or $450 heck if lucky $399 still have to sale my dumb S9 myself. Which then I get back the $100 or so. Effectively making your point mute. Meanwhile all that time waiting for it to go down at price to $399 I could be using the phone and get the same price now.

Found this on the T-Mobile website.

You may have one Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo per line at a time. To get a new Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo and keep your current credit, you must pay off the existing EIP first.

So it says you can only have one promo per line but then at the same time says to get a new one you have to pay off the EIP.

Not sure if that means you can stack or not...

You hit the nail on the head. S9 trade is key also Pixel 6 Pro price will tank in the coming months and years. Horrible pricing it $300 more. $599 is just too go of a price to pass up for me. $450 with a trade. A solid Android phone without 2 of every app like Samsung. And can used Vanced for YouTube cause it's Andriod. It's the closest thing to getting a nice Apple phone with its own brand of chip and clean software but be able to use Vance and all sorts of other things that Apple doesn't allow. I will never see ads ever. I don't know how you iPhone people deal with all those advertisements on YouTube and all those other stupid things you use. What a waste of time on earth watching them.

Free Pixel 6 Pro with Magenta plan after trading in my Galaxy S10 that sits in a drawer. Awesome deal even if it is bill credits.

If only Costco would get a similar deal then I would cancel this in a hearbeat.
Free for Magenta MAX though, right? I'm on magenta
