Costco T-Mobile generally gives back tradein value back in visa/master gift card after a month or two. So it is easy for people who want pay upfront rather than waiting for credits over 2 years.

I just proceed with the pre-order. Why does the promo page show I would get $599.99 trade-in credit for the Note 8, but then I completed order, it show quoted trade-in credit for only $31?

Same deal for my Note 20U trade. Show only $390 credit, when the promo clearly said it was worth $899.99??
as others said, you will get the 31 credited immediately when you send in the note 8. the rest will be bill credits for your line. so 600 - 31 =569 /24 = you bill credits monthly.

Assuming you have Magenta MAX

I've never done a trade-in with TMobile before. Are the good with honoring these trade-in values? Are they going to give me any problems? My trades are in mint condition. Never dropped, no cracks, and all in perfect working condition. Did a couple trade with Samsung, that was a nightmare. Had to call them to clear up issues with trade. They said I sent in wrong device, even though it was clearly the correct device.

I ordered online with 611 assistance to save $30 on the service fee + somehow the lady on the phone was able to place a note on my order so at the end I would get $600 off. Not sure how or why she did that for me. But when doing it all online I could only get it to $300 off for my pixel 2xl good condition.
1) are you on Magenta Max? if so, 600 is the correct amount/

2) If not, does it show anywhere in your screenshot or the papre work that you will get 600 off total? or is it only documented by the rep?

3) If it's just the reps documentation, none of this will happen automatically, you'll get 300-(instant value) back in monthly credit and will have to call in to make them honor the reps' notes for 600.

As long as you aren't cancelling the line/service it should probably work. The upgrade is taken off your bill in credits each month. So depending on what your bill is each month, it will deduct the remaining credits.
Without a line, there will be nothing to deduct. But I would call them to be sure, it's a decent amount to gamble on.
Quote from herpderp118 :
The credits get taken off your bill. Instead of payments owed on phone minus credits, which should zero out, you have zero payments owed minus whatever credits leftover each month discounting your plan payments

I am keeping the line & will use it for some future unname phone.
*actually I have 8 lines on this curent TMO plan.

So I think you are both are correct, even if I pay the phone off early, the credits keep rolling in each month until after the end of the 24 month as long as there is a line to apply the credits to.

Thank you both!

tmobile/assurant is pretty good if the condition is as you say, I've done 10 trade ins and never had issues.

My trades have always met the requirements, but I did have a few in not great condition that still passed:

1) S9 with screen burn in.

2) S9 with cracks on back glass.

My trades are in good condition. No cracks and screen burn-in. I take very good care of my devices.

How the heck does Tmobile make money giving crazy high trade-in value for 4 years old Note 8 that's end-of-life? Do they do these trade-in promos just to lock people into their plans for years? I've been with TMO for over a decade. Very happy with them. Not planning to leave anytime soon.

Is Costco TMobile a separate entity or can a regular tmobile customer use them?
Have to be a Costco customer as well as a Tmo customer. - Can have someone with a Costco membership help out as its just used to check out and purchase the phone.

Been wanting to switch to T-Mobile since it seems that Verizon in my area is sub-par. Have a mint 4a 5G I'm using now. So, this may be nice. I had planned on getting a 6 pro either way.
For someone coming into T-Mobile or adding a new line, you can get the Pixel 6 for just $99 after promotional credits without having to trade in your old phone. You'll get better offers than this one for existing customers.

I was going to pick up a S9 from a guy on OfferUp today but it had a crack. Thinking I'll just grab one off eBay. Anybody have a seller they recommend? I was looking at this one.

I spoke to a representative, she said I could get $900 credit for my trade in on a regular magenta plan. Is she wrong? My order was processed, now I think there could be some problem with the credit later on.
