Costco T-Mobile generally gives back tradein value back in visa/master gift card after a month or two. So it is easy for people who want pay upfront rather than waiting for credits over 2 years.

These credits should be WITHOUT at trade in like it used to be. The plans are still exorbitantly expensive compared to a good MVNO so why would they require you giving them your phone???
It is organized theft, but we choose to consent to it or not.

yep. True that.. They want to hold you for next 24 months on their network, make money out of it and also take your current phone which values another $300-$400 Frown and throw a bone at you (in this case its google pixel) vomit

so T-Mobile should just give everyone a free pixel 6 or iPhone 13 without any string attached?

I still remember when I got my first smartphone HTC One X when I was at AT&T 9 years back the EIP agreement was to stay with them for 24 months and they will give you 50% off on the smartphone and thats about it... They make more money from the network than selling a phone. nowdays we are paying the full price of the smartphone + staying with them for 24 months + getting a cheap value for your used smart phone in monthly credits..

I called TMobile and asked them how much credit I would get for a Pixel 3 and was told $600, essentially making the Pixel 6 free. I completed the transaction and now wondering if this deal is going to stick. My daughter recently received a large credit from a TMobile phone rep on an iPhone promo and a week after receiving phone was told the promo was not valid and shouldn't have been offered by the rep. Does this happen a lot with T-Mobile i.e. phone reps offer deals they are not in a position to offer?

why can't you check it yourself? Just go through the upgrade process and enter your trade-in device. It will tell you how much your phone worth. Another easy way to find out is if you have max plan. its $600. non-max plan is $300 for your pixel 3. do you know what plan you have???

I'm on Simple Choice and know the value should have been $300. I even told the rep that and she said it was coming up $600 on her end. I wasn't going to decline it.

are you paying any extra for data on that line? Theres a max data add-on for $15. It may make you eligible for the $600. If not, then you will be surprised when you get your first bill.

Noticed that as as well - there is no headphone jack on this device though!
