GameStop's new promo for Pro Members is they are matching the cash value of the Switch trade-in with the store credit. So you will get either $220 cash or $220 in store credit. Normal the cash value is less.
If you just want to sell your Switch and use the money else where to buy an OLED or whatever, this is not a bad option. It's easier than selling on Ebay, Craiglist etc.

I traded in my old PS4 slim 500GB for $240 credit at Gamestop last weekend. I thought it was a good deal because I only paid $199 for it (and a free game). I am not sure if I should use the credit for a new PS5 (myself) or a new Switch (my kid)
I have several switches that still have either v2 or v3 firmware on them, they were purchased before the fusee glitch was released so they are all hackable. They've been sitting in the closet since I got them, should I just trade them for $220 each?
No, hack them yourself and sell them on ebay or something. They will be worth more than $220.
Does this makes sense for someone trying to switch from switch to xbox? Not necessairly need to buy xbox right a way, can wait Black friday but a good opportunity to get rid of switch with cash option which means I dont need to stick with gamestop to buy xbox? How frequently this kinda deal pops up? Tia 🙏

Is GameStop just anticipating a major shortage due to supply chain holdups and is stocking up used ones to resell during the holiday season ?
Probably little money to be made on the systems with the high trade in value but the games... the Nintendo stuff is holding value really well in general. Bet they make the most on games & accessories once they get the switch in your hands, and that's their plan.

I knew that was the case but I was shocked a few months back when I started selling my Switch games. I sold Doom for 150% of what I paid for it new. All the other games sold at 80% of what I paid or higher. It's crazy but I wasn't complaining.
I'm keeping my v1 for the long haul. No one knows how the oled display will age just yet and if it's easy to hack. Quite possible the v1 will be in demand many years from now when people are seeking nostalgia.

Is the OLED switch worth it for a first time switch buyer?
I will use the handheld pretty often when travelling
It's only a $50 uncharge over the original model... If I were you, I'd DEFINITEY DO IT! Small amount extra for way better screen and kickstand primarily. It's a tougher sell if you already have a V2. I myself upgraded from a V1 2017 model, and still found it worth it!

Currently it's $220 cash and $275 store credit for Pro members.
Will they ever offer (or ever historically offered) $275 cash for trade-in?
