I've been taking 5000 iu D3 softgels without issues. Probably going to check out this one [walmart.com] (Walmart brand) when my current batch runs out.

1,000 IU is generally a low(er) dose, for those needing to correct low vitamin-D levels.

Usually, 4,000+ IU is suggested to be therapeutic.

(also research states ~100mcg/daily a safe threshold)

This is a great price but at my last physical I learned that I have a vitamin D deficiency and my doctor told me to take 5000IU each day.
