If you've got a lead on a decent one, or some recommendations, I'll take it. I've been using the same tripod for like 15 years. It's beat up (mostly one or two little plastic knobs are cracking/ed), but it's small and light and made of aluminum, and is great to travel with--haven't been bothered to find a replacement to be honest.
Really depends on need and use.

If you're only putting you a tripod to take a one in a year family photo, really no need for$$$$ ones.
Heck, even the $3-4 Daiso super lite aluminum short tripods will do.

This one? The plastic head that lets you flip the camera 90 degrees can break if overloaded or abused. But hey, it's not a $$$ manfroto solid metal, heavy ass professional tripod you can go to war with.

Ie. If you're putting on the typical consumer point and shoot or light dslr, no issues for the occasional photo.

Yes, you might find it'll flip over on unstable surfaces, heavy winds, too heavy camera, but just hang a bag under the middle of the tripod with a few pounds of anything to weigh it down.

No, it's not a video tripod, so panning side to side wont be smooth, but even on pro tripods, you'll need to spend more to get that (fluid heads). And easier just to pickup the entire tripod to rotate for photos side to side sometimes in cheap tripods.

Tons of tripods.
Slik / Sony $50-100 will be a nice start. Mid weight, but typically lasts and stable.

$100+ manfroto legs only + $ to $$$ tripod head appropriate for your use good for pros (and heavy).

Great deal for $10 if you occasionally need a tripod for normal, non-extreme conditions. If you do photography/videography for a living, or are a super-fan who expects to use this a lot, no, this is probably not a good choice.

It works fine with a laser level but a pain in the ass to adjust. I would rather use a clamp that can attach to your your level.
Would be interested in some more info about the clamp. It would probably be easier to transport and maybe even store in bag with laser level.

Thanks

Got mine.

The actual model number you get is "5858DLX", and the box/item/package has no mention of "PlatinumPlus" or "5858D". Seems like the company has rebranded the item maybe, or BB is dumping cheap B-grade (C-grade? D-grade?) runs of the product.

As far as the product goes, it feels EXTREMELY cheap. Even a stretch for $10, I'd say worth about $5. The plastic is horribly molded with sharp tabs/edges not trimmed everywhere, fit/finish pretty bad, the main center metal pole on mine has a deep wavy gouge through the black finish brand new out of the box. It feels like something I would pick up at a cut-rate swap meet in China after negotiating the price down with the proprietor from $20 to $5 or something.

I am a filthy casual phone-only person, refuse to buy fancy cameras, and this may work for my needs. I would not want to put an actual camera on here at all.

I did search reviews of this item before I purchased and from what I can tell (tons of Youtube unboxing vids but few substantive reviews, lots of short and meaningless product reviews on Amazon), most reviews are fake/compensated.

I bought this last year and use it for my laser level. Perfect for that purpose. Lightweight and deploys/stores quickly.

With little wind, these fall off and damage your phones/camera etc. not sturdy enough. Total garbage. Don't waste your money

Does it work with phone?
Yes, it has a spring loaded cell phone adapter. The dimensions are limited though, but my moto g7 fits nicely. The tripod has a 1/4" threaded adapter so you can attach other things as well.

I agree, I bought this for the lack of image stabilization on my moto g7. I also purchased a bluetooth remote so I can take photos without touching the phone, and this way i don't have to wait for a 3 second timer either. My ebay pictures are turning out less blurry already. I could have upgraded my phone for the image stabilization but this route only cost me 25$.

I second his opinion though. Very light plastic. Not robust. If you baby the tripod it should last a while. Definitely use indoors on a flat surface. However, if using with a light cell phone, it offers lots of different heights, tilts, and angles for different types of photos you may need.
