It's entirely optional, though, and many people won't want to deal with it. The stock firmware is basic, but will do everything the vast majority of users will want or need. I'm still running stock, in fact.

Worked for me in the app and being signed into account
The only issue is the simplistic UI. There are not much things you can tweak. But if you just want a robust AP that support 802.11ax, this is for you.
