Here's a nice comparison of Ryobi's 3 glue guns: https://craftwizz.com/ryobi-cordl...p306-p307/

I have this gun and I gotta say, it's a lot more convenient to use a glue gun without a cord. Then there's the added benefit of having a dedicated place to put the gun down when not in use. I also confirm that this gun heats up pretty hot (much hotter than the basic dollar store corded glue guns).

Is directtooloutlet a credible site? Anybody have any issues?
I've bought things at their B&M store and online. They are awesome! I haven't had a bad experience yet.

The site was briefly down, but looks to be up now. Anyone have a good source on a battery and charger? I would hate to think I am getting a deal on a cordless glue gun only to spend at least as much to get a battery and charger.
Sorry, unless you are already invested in the RYOBI line or plan to be - buying a battery and charger will far exceed the cost of this glue gun.

So maybe a dumb question but a battery from any 18V ryobi tool should work, right? I have the 18V impact from the home depot deal a few weeks back.

Are the glue sticks used pretty standard and available or do you have to use Ryobi specific ones?
I have this one and get glue sticks at 99 cent store. Very convenient with no cord..Because of it's mobility, I use it way more than I thought I would. Great item.

So the cheaper one is out of stock, ordered the $18 one... hope it works with regular glue sticks?

Thanks for the info! I figured that would be the case, but worth a shot asking as sometimes SD'ers are aware of a deal I might not see. I have a lot of cordless tools, but not Ryobi any longer. Bummer - would have been nice.

Ryobi is owned by TTI. Direct Tools is owned by TTI. 🤷 Factory blemished gets around exclusivity with Home Depot. We have a store on our way to my in laws cabin and have stopped by many times. Totally, 1000000% legit. They are not always fast shipping, but many places are way behind in that area these days. In store, at least at our location, customer service is excellent.

I bought the smaller one (P306) a while back.

The big nice thing about it vs the others is that it has a dock where you attach the battery, detached from the glue gun itself. This makes the gun much lighter -- you aren't moving around the bulky battery. That said, the glue gun is not heating anymore once you remove it from the dock (it's unpowered once you remove it). This would probably make it worse for continuous or semi-continuous work, since you'd need to have some downtime to re-heat up the glue gun in the dock.

It takes small glue sticks which I didn't realize and was disappointed in. But they are the standard mini size sticks, not proprietary, so if you don't already have a ton of full sized glue sticks this probably won't matter.

As someone else said, a main difference between the other two seems mostly if you want a low temperature option. I don't hot glue a ton of stuff and have no idea if that's useful or not.

Otherwise the more expensive also has an integrated drip tray (seems useful) and different nozzles (no idea if they're useful, I'll probably lose them).

It also comes with 7 more glue sticks Smilie

For the extra $3.74 I think I'd go for the more expensive model but it sold out while I was typing this.
