I am just curious, for the people who love/have to have them, what do you guys use stylus/note functionality for on your devices? What feature makes it indispensable for you?
All the above mentioned. The most recent thing I used mine for was tracing house wiring runs in my attic. I took pictures, then used the stylus to draw red or blue lines to mark on the pix which lines were hot vs. common. This is old knob-n-tube that I'm looking to rewire with Romex. I can then study how I want to rewire, outside the confines of the attic.
My concerns with Moto phones are such:
1 - the cameras rate good but are NOT
2 - some sort of update comes out and makes the phone terrible. Once it made battery life such that I could no longer get through a full work day, once it just made everything run slow. Both of these were fixed by a full wipe and reload but that's just irritating.
Off the top of my head I think I had a Moto G5, G5S plus, X4 and then a G7.
Made the switch to a pixel 3 xl when I saw a decent deal come up and it's served me well for the past year and a half now. Pictures are always great and updates haven't caused problems.

Seems like still S21 Ultra is the most likely to be Note replacement especially with 5000mAh battery, faster processor and best ppi among recent samsungs, closest to Note 8.
I will probably go the direction of the newer Pixel "A" phones since they maintain the headphone jack and keep pushing the envelope on photo quality. I will need to set up local backup on my LAN to substitute the role of the SD card.
Needs to work on Verizon.
I was thinking of getting this as his last option.

I definitely wouldn't get any pixel 3 model.
Lots of different phones out there, but I would not take a risk with security.
Really like the pixel camera and screen quality. The no sdcard is annoying but I don't need much storage. The biggest consideration for me is camera quality. With power banks and fast charging its not as critical for me to have a large battery. I have the moto z2 force, but it never got any Android OS updates and the last security update is from 2+yrs ago. Great phone though, like the unbreakable screen and the Moto gestures.
This phone looks great but would prefer a better camera.
