I have the Vava 4K UHD projector paired with an X-Y screen... and looks just a shy below qled. Probably the best non Oled/Qled picture. And when you have 120" in your Living room - it's a whole different experience. I wouldn't trade my setup for a 77" Oled.

Great - until breaks

it worked great and well for the first 5 months. now it just randomly turns off. its nearly unusable. support is very difficult to get in touch with and useless when you do. you can't even find any info on this device on google.

would not recommend. too expensive to be a floor weight.

My understanding was that the X900H didn't have Gsync/Freesync/VRR. I was looking at that exact TV and decided against it. I think the only hope it had for any HDMI 2.1 features was VRR which from what I'm reading either hasn't been implemented well or is still one more update/patch away from actually being useful.

Would appreciate your feedback/experience as I debate between finding an 85" X900H or going with something like an 85" X85J as a compromise in price since X90J (X91J for 85") is several hundred dollars more. FWIW: the X85J is also awaiting an update for VRR but pretty sure that's it. No additional "sync" modes or even ALLM.
The Samsung Q90A is currently around $2600 if you have access to an EPP/EDU account. If you don't, someone on the thread is offering to setup people with a deal, though he did not say the terms. Will see if I can find the thread, but you should be able to look for it on SD. Great deal if you are interested.

You may want to check the number of HDMI ports that are actually 2.1 on the Sony's as well, l recently purchased the 90J and only two out of the four ports are 2.1 if l remember correctly. (And if you use the e-arc port, then really only one hdmi 2.1 port is available)
Yes, I noticed that and I can live with 1 or 2 HDMI 2.1 ports with just my XSX. Having four on the LG OLEDs is nice but don't see that as necessary for me.

Amazon has the 85" X85J for $1998. If I'm going to spend +$600 I might as well go for a 77" C1. I'm had bad experiences with local dimming (current 2019 Vizio P Series Quantum owner) and I can't get over the blooming/clouding; even from straight on... and looks worse from side angles.

Anyway, the X85J doesn't have local dimming but having turned off local dimming on my Vizio and seeing the picture isn't noticeably worse I can only assume Sony's fantastic native contrast and overall quality will make sure I don't miss local dimming like the X90J has.

The X900H just got the VRR update and I tested it on both my PC with an Nvidia card and my XSX with VRR and they both work great. I'm a nerd who works in IT and watches lots of Digital Foundry videos so I've done a few tests and so far both VRR and Gsync on PC work great. 4k/120 also works great on PC. For Xbox, I've done 120hz games but I'm not sure if those games also ran in 4k. As mentioned by others, only 2 ports are HDMI 2.1 but that's not too terrible. Once PS5 adds VRR it might be slightly bothersome switching ports but not a huge deal. Great TV if you can get it for under 2k.

Vizio is in a different league than Samsung and Sony. Vizio outsources their production to the cheapest vendor able to meet their minimum specs every year. They have no R&D to speak of. Samsung and Sony have engineers who have to keep up the brand name. Not saying they are perfect, but you have a better bet with their products than with Vizio. Sony's picture qualityband QA is among the best (I have a 75 900F) but Samsung's panels are outstanding (despite poor QA). The current pricing of the Q90A is amazing considering that it is a mini-led TV with amazing black levels and minimal blooming. If you are in the market, check them out. Samsung limitation is that it does not support Dolby Vision, but this TV gets so bright that the consensus is that DV is a moor point for this model.

Hi experts, How is this compared to Epson 5050ub or similar projectors? (minus the short throw feature, it's not a deal breaker for me)

Is it inevitable that a thread on a projector deal gets hijacked by discussions on OLED/QLED TVs? To me, you need both, so I will stick to talking about projectors here ... Smilie

I am currently in the waiting list for the Vava Chroma and was evaluating if this would be a better deal. This deal had appeared before for a day and I did not jump on it.

- Is single laser that bad compared to triple laser?
- Is Samsung quality better than Vava?
- Is after sales support better for Samsung than Vava?
- Do I prefer sending my money to South Korea or China?
- Can this do 150" screen while maintaining image quality? Can the Vava?

So many Qs and so few definitive answers... Smilie

This deal has been there for three days already and I did jump the moment I saw it when google ads notified me on the 19th. I did some research on lsp7t, Vava 4k and Hisense L5F before, and also on some possible step-ups such as P2, HU85LA, lsp9t, L9G etc. I decided that the price-performance ratio for these more expensive ones are not worth it for me. I have three OLED TVs between LG and Sony and I set my expectation low regardless whether it is single-laser or three-laser. It is not worth the double price tag as long as it is for similar size, which is the biggest reason for a UST for me.

All these three lower ones have dropped below $2000 at some point and will likely do it again. L5F was 2500 but with a screen worth about 500 to most people but not to me for the hassle and restriction, but let's still count it as 2000. With all the cashback and perks, Samsung is a little cheaper than the other two.

Reading all the reviews, I feel lsp7t has a little edge on picture quality but is also the lowest on brightness. I use it in basement so not a big deal for me.

Quality-wise, all seem pretty bad with a good amount of complaints as these are less mature products compared to TVs. We just have to accept that and lower our expectations. I have dealt with Samsung services before and they are very bureaucratic but I don't feel the other two are any better.

Software-wise, Samsung is miles ahead with a mature system they use on modern TVs. The other two are like bare-bone android with poor memory optimization and most user reviews about interfaces and settings are complaints. You will need to add something like an Apple TV 4K to have a good experience. Vava is not from China afaik but Hisense is. Either way they are not in the same league as the big three TV manufactures LG/Samsung/Sony in terms of software and firmware.

Warranty-wise, Samsung is two years vs. one-year for the others, another big advantage.

Vava specs supports up to 150 and the other two say 120. Those peak specs don't mean much if the brightness comes with sacrifice in performance. With a dark room, I am still planning to use 7t for 135-150 screens anyway but lets see how it goes. I have seen people doing that and I am not too worried about lumens but more concerned about focus and placement, etc.

I was wondering how this compared to my 5030ub. I just installed a new lamp this week, but am thinking about moving to an UST at some point.

Can't wait for these to get closer to $1000. I want this, but not at this pricing.
