Every 20-30 seconds (I never actually timed), it will do a little stutter (I believe this is normal functionality because I noticed this in all the different ones I've seen of the same model), which I use to "time" how long I am brushing. I used to be able to get it to the 4th stutter (which is a more pronounced stutter, perhaps to let you know you've been brushing for "this amount of time"), but now more than half the time, it will die between the 3rd and 4th stutters (and sometimes between the 2nd and 3rd), which I am attributing to an aging (aged?) internal battery.
That said, I still recommend this for those looking for an decent affordable electric toothbrush that, at least for me, has lasted up to 9+ years so far.
