CVS is one of the few places that take PayPal QR codes as payment. It's been recommended to use self checkout, if possible. Once you add the gift card, DO NOT click any payment method on the self checkout terminal. Instead, scan your PayPal QR code like you are buying something. Then it will allow you to checkout and pay with PayPal.
If it does indeed stack with the 2% back at drug stores as the other thread suggests, that's 11% back on up to $1500.

I did not receive the email though and there is no mention of an additional bonus for me. Thanks though, OP!

It is only for Freedom Flex.

You decide the top spend category by what you buy.
I wish Chase had made this offer known sooner.
I already bought a $500 VISA gift card at Walmart.
This leaves me with $1000 to use at CVS.
I will buy two $500 VISA gift cards using Paypal.
This is 9%.

I don't think PayPal or Walmart are spend categories for the "Eligible Rewards Categories." Are they? edit I got my email... "If you use PayPal, a Q4 bonus category, as a payment method for purchases in your top spend category, you will earn a total of 9%.

which leads me to think that they are capping at 9% not 11%.
In essence, they are making drugstores additional 4% instead of the standard 2%.
If it turns out to be 11%, I will be very happy.
Thanks for the reminder that the next $500 after the $1000 at CVS is still 7% which is nice as well.
That $500 VISA card purchased at Walmart cost me extra $20. :-(
