Set up PayPal so you can pay with QR codes. Link your Chase freedom flex as the payment method.

CVS is one of the few places that take PayPal QR codes as payment. It's been recommended to use self checkout, if possible. Once you add the gift card, DO NOT click any payment method on the self checkout terminal. Instead, scan your PayPal QR code like you are buying something. Then it will allow you to checkout and pay with PayPal.

If it does indeed stack with the 2% back at drug stores as the other thread suggests, that's 11% back on up to $1500.

So, most of my Flex normal bonus category quarterly spend already happened with PayPal Key paying childcare and medical bills—none of which count as a "top spend" bonus category. Does this deal only apply to your actual top spend category (in my case childcare) or to charges that are the highest total in one of the specific "top spend" bonus categories? Like, if this month is spend $1000 childcare (PPK), $500 medical (PPK), $500 grocery (not PayPal), will I get 5% on the grocery portion of my quarter's spend? Or at I out of luck because childcare is not a "top spend" bonus category?

Converting is fine. Keeping and applying flex lets you have bonuses on both cards. You can spend $1500 on freedom for walmart/paypal and $1500 on a 9% category with flex.

It is 7% if I order on Walgreens.com for order pickup. Walgreens.com takes Paypal.

This is what I am doing.
Well, actually $1000 in 9% category with Flex since I had already spent $500 at Walmart.
Argh. If only Chase had announced it before Oct 1.

okay here is what i have been told. i spent 1500 with paypal already but 90% was in ebay so now i have spent 1500 but ebay is not a top CAT.. So now do i need to go spend 1500 in say drug stores or gas?

Im diligently trying to find Key in my PayPal acct. This would allow my online Google Pay beer spend to earn greater cash back, so far no go & merchant rejects PayPal in Gpay as it is now.

Edit: nevermind I read up on DoC; apparently it's a crap shoot to get ppk anymore (limited slots) and ppk steadily broken further by PayPal

That's how I am interpreting it.

Chase is making Q4 like Citi's Custom Cash card.
Whichever is the top spend for all 3 months gets the 5%.
