Not sure if this is nationwide or not, but my Costco just started selling Kirkland brand grass-fed butter for $9.99.
A friend of mine tell me that because this brand has the highest fat content, it's perfect for making THC butter, if you're in a legal state, that is.
how does one feed butter grass?

is it something special about this butter? How is it different from the butter that Costco sells like 3 packs (salted or unsalted) all the time?
The Kerrygold is a great butter, much better than regular (including Costco's). Has a more buttery flavor, probably because it is a European style butter with higher fat content. Makes baked stuff taste so much better, but also tastes great on bread. We still have regular Costco's butter, which is decent for baking because until recently our Costco only carried the salted Kerrygold, but I'll buy the unsalted from now on now that they finally carry it where we shop.

I haven't seen Costco's new grassfed butter, but I haven't looked for it so I don't know how it compares to that one. Probably still better as it likely has a higher fat content to start with.

FWIW, the Kirkland packaging says "95% grass-fed butter", and as others have noted: "product of New Zealand".

Can someone tell me how the limit of 3 per transaction works? Can I buy 3 and then repeat or do I have to wait to buy more the next day?
Limit 3 per membership.

Each membership gets 2 account holders (different account #), 1 primary, 1 secondary

The primary member can get 3 total and the secondary can get 3 total (either salted, unsalted or a combination, not 3 of both salted and unsalted)

Total of 6

Last year when they did this sale the limit was 6 or 8 per membership, it sucks that they cut down the max per member

You guys better try New Zealand butter particularly the Anchor brand. Have only found it in small Asian stores around LA. You'll never want to use your normal butter on bread after you discover it.

I only settle for Kerrygold when we run out of Anchor butter.

I've never seen the Kerrygold unsalted version at my local Costco. https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/frown.gif
The Costco's around my area (Seattle) only carry the unsalted butter during this sale which seems to happen annually right before the holidays. Check in when this goes live, you may find the same thing.

Second for Anchor but Devon double cream is the butter you all seek.

Plugra for a cheaper more available alternative.

The Kirkland grass fed butter is the one to get. Fantastic taste and rich yellow color. The only thing that sucks about it is the shape of the sticks. Non-standard. We have to cut them in half so they'll fit in a butter dish.

Does not taste as rich as the Kerry gold.
But 100% less risk of brain disease from bent prions. New Zealand cows do not have BSE, and no variant CJD has been identified there. Not so Ireland. The longest surviving victim of vCJD prion disease is 10 years:

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-north...d-12667709

"The probability of food-borne exposure to prion diseases in the EU appears now to be very limited." (note that it's not zero)

I'll stick with the delicious Kirkland grass fed butter.

I second this! I'm also about 95% sure the grass fed butter under the Kirkland signature label is Anchor butter.
