kinda crazy how $350 is considered a deal for a 3+ year old dyson

According to Vacuum Wars it still functions better than most of its competitors.

My dyson V6 fluffy died after two years, it suddenly won't hold any charge. I am not very confident on the battery-based product any more. My regular Dyson with cable is still working after 10 years and it is also cheaper.

My v8 absolute has been working fine since 2018. I had to replace soft brush head cos it stopped working . Now the canister bin falls off every time I empty it after vacuuming. The handle has some cracks too. Warranty expired long time ago but Dyson was nice enough to send me whole main body and handle part with new canister included free of charge to me for sending back the damaged parts. Motor head brush head is a must for carpet floor and the soft brush head is a must for hardwood and plan floor!

have you looked into aftermarket battery replacements? prob worth a try before shelling out hundreds more for another cordless vacuum. your usage habit could also shorten the life span of the battery. like leaving it plugged in 24/7 or always using it in high power mode etc. our V8 purchased 2019 holidays is still holding strong and i've not noticed drop in usage time compared to the beginning. it's always kept fully charged after each use and i'll unplug right away after it's fully charged. we rarely use the high power mode (only when it's absolutely needed) as it tends to make the battery super hot in addition to the expected faster drain

If you bought your Dyson from Costco, return it and get a refund.

Yes, batteries don't last forever. They eventually need to be changed if you have the item long enough or wear out the battery... thankfully there is Amazon that sells replacement batteries.

I very much enjoy the our V8 absolute, that we also purchased from Costco. Haven't had any issues with battery life and we keep ours on the wall mount charging doc always plugged in. Hoping for a deal on a newer model more near BF to use at our new home.

Seems like it should be possible to order now, and then request a price adjustment when the promo goes live right?
Quote :
Price Adjustment - Costco.com Orders
Costco.com will gladly issue a credit for the difference between the price you paid and the promotional price, if your purchase was made online at Costco.com and was within 30 days prior to the change in price. Credits are typically issued within 3-5 business days.
Please note:
The special consideration for promotional pricing is for end consumers only. Resellers must purchase the item during the valid promotional dates to receive the promotional price.
If you purchased the item at a Costco warehouse location, please inquire at the membership counter at the Costco location where you made the purchase.
Costco does not price match with other retailers.

What I do is buy the off-brand V6 batteries on Amazon. invariably, they only last ~6 months but the manufacturer keeps sending me a replacement when I ask.

Honestly having to monitor and doctor the battery like that defeats a lot of the convenience factor for me. It shouldn't be heard to engineer a relay into the battery management system of the Dysons to prevent overcharging or harming the life. For what you pay for these things, you should absolutely be able to set it and forget it

i see your point. at the same time i've gotten used to the routine when using ours so it's not really a biggie for me. it's like the same with phones/devices, always gotta keep them charged and ready to go lol
