Newegg's customer service had tanked over the last few years. I wouldn't buy anything from them certainly not this expensive. They change their return policy on a whim.

Yes I just saw your post. That's quite a nice deal. Too bad it's sold out (again).

I was interested in this until I learned that the case is made of plastic. That's a big no for me. I am willing to pay an extra $200 just to have a rigid all-metal chassis. It really makes a difference for me. Also 115 + 15W peak is not that great for a laptop this thick.
A lot of high end gaming laptops actually use plastic in either full or partial construction and that doesn't make them less rigid or durable. The costly Asus ROG strix G and Scar series, which cost more than this, has a plastic body apart from the lid. Legion 5 pro also just has a top lid made of metal and rest are metal.

Yes that's exactly why didn't buy those laptops. I hate the cheap/plasticky designs. The L5P is very, very drab-looking as well. Many reviews acknowledge this, and the fact that a lot of people buy those laptops doesn't nullify the questionable chassis design/material choices. The main reason I got the Alienware M15 R4 was for the stylish magnesium alloy unibody design. The only significant plastic component it has is the heatsink shroud in the back. In fact, it's one of the best-constructed laptop chassis out there and gives the Macbook Pro's build quality a run for its money. If you don't care about build quality, design, and materials, then what I'm saying doesn't apply to you. If you like the SCAR laptop because of the GameBoy-reminiscent transparent plastic keyboard deck, then we're simply looking for different things out of our $2000 rapidly depreciating tech devices.

It looks like you're trying too hard to force your personal preference as preference for the mass. Legion 5 Pro has been considered by almost every reviewers that one of the best design in terms of build quality, chassis rigidity and obviously cooling and performance. Asus ROG Stix series Laptops are made of plastic mostly for last couple of generations and they are considered to have one of the best build quality and the term "Built like a Tank" has been used by multiple reviewers. And Plastic build does not make it cheap looking, like the way you're trying to portray. That may be true for some of the budget series laptops like Acer Nitro series or Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 but not for higher end Gaming laptops.
But feel free to share some reviews (Apart from your personal opinion) stating Asus ROG Strix series or Legion 5 Pro are having bad and cheap build quality due to use of plastic.

I paid $1,400 for my Legion 7 Pro 5800H, 16, 1, 3070 during the pre-labor day sale and some folks bought the Legion 7, 16, 1, 3080 for $2,200.

All of these laptops with 3070s need to drop to around $1,300-1,400 for Black Friday. Also 12th-gen Alder Lake desktops will be coming on Nov 4th with laptops following closely behind in January so manufacturers need to get rid of their junky Ryzen 5000 and Intel 11th-gen hardware asap before pri es drop precipitously.

I only buy from Newegg's eBay store. eBay makes it easy to get a complete refund including shipping. Last item I purchased was some ram and it didn't work out. I returned via eBay and they refunded minus shipping. I filed a dispute and recouped my shipping cost immediately. However, I agree, I wouldn't purchase anything expensive directly from them. Too much risk.

I returned my L5P for build quality/materials reasons. I also returned my M15 R5 for the same reasons. The M15 R4 is a tangibly big upgrade over both. I'm not "forcing my preferences." It is not at all uncommon for consumers to prefer and seek out metal materials manufactured with tight tolerances, and I am in that category. Plus, the use of plastic typically makes the devices more thick and chunky, as is the case with the laptops we're comparing. And plastic does wear out quicker, and undeniably has a different hand feel. If you like plastic, that's cool. Whatever.

Easy money if you have one. You can make about $120 a month a 3070 laptop.

How much in energy would that Cost?

I got a full powered 115-130 3060 from Costco msi ge76 or better yet I may buy the 3070 msi ge76 from Costco for 1999. No shits given, I get 4 year warranty from Costco if I buy one

If I can leave it running for 7 months and pay it off whatever. I may really consider it

Say 120 watts total wall draw so about 29 cents a day at .10 K/HR. Just did a re-calc and a 3070 should net you $132 after electricity per month on ethereum.
