Bought this at full price and don't regret it. Had an oopsie my first time and made a huge mess with caulking getting all over the tool and the teeth. Pretty straight forward disassembly to clean up and put back together… At this price, it's well worth it.

A consistent, even bead every time was the advantage for me. You can go ahead and say that the regular caulk gun works fine for you, but everybody has their skills and failings.

You use a manual caulk gun on adhesives or thicker sealants all day and enjoy the wrist and arm pain. If I'm laying a single bead or just using regular silicone caulk sure, I'll use a manual gun. But you pull out a whole case of Loctite PL? Yeah, you'll want this.
I don't have the ryobi one but I do have the dewalt version. Both in 10oz and 28oz versions and they're one of my favorite tools. Easy to use, consistent, and keeps a lot of pain and aches away.

No I can totally see how it could work. I can't keep an even bead. Lol

This is a junk tool searching for a problem. What's wrong with a regular caulk gun?
This is a solid, quality tool with good features and great control. Used mine tonight in the rain to finish a job. These guns get used commercially all over the country by many types of tradesmen. You won't find pros calling this a junk tool, it's a standby.

It is very useful when the need for long lines exists. In trades where copious amounts of adhesive, sealant, caulk, or whatever is used. Sealing large areas like a kitchen counter, sink, bathroom is much faster with this tool. A hammer will dead a nail, but palm nailer and hammer guns are great.

Same here. I still need to take mine apart and clean. Any tips?

Well, it might be different situations, but since my mess wasn't a super strong adhesive, I let it cure or get solid for a few days after I took it apart. After that, it was basically using a few hand picks and tweezers here and there to remove everything.

Perhaps it's obvious, but I was lucky enough to noticed the mess before I pulled the handle/gunked teeth through the main body. Bc of that, I didn't have to do a full disassembly

Probably not if you didn't know about it. They've been around for a while so you probably would have noticed already if you did a lot of caulking.

If you only do it occasionally, you can just use a finishing tool to smooth the bead. Or hell, just moisten your finger.

Wonder if any real difference between the ridgid and ryobi one. Aside from the current price

I have all ridgid batteries but have a ryobi adapter for when I feel like using ryobi tools.
Can you charge ridgid batteries with your ryobi adapter and charger?
