For those who may not be aware this is part of Makitas 12-volt CXT platform which is not compatible with there 18-volt LXT platform. I love Makita but it's starting to feel like they are neglecting their 12-volt lineup compared to Milwaukee's M12. I also wish this kit came with x2 batteries as most of their other 12-volt kits do

Milwaukee is lapping the field in the 12v platform, I think other tool manufacturers underestimated how much people would like lighter less powerful tools

Man, I waited and waited for a deal like this for a long time, as I've been in the Makita 18v ecosystem for a while.

I got sick of waiting and had to add team red's 12v lineup to the mix last winter.

The makita just seemed like a chonker compared to the milwaukee. Makita needed to do a barrel style for their 12v.

Agreed. I've got Dewalt 20v everything and then Milwaukee 12v and use the 12v for 95% of things.

I do construction, I love the dewalt 20 and flexvolt platforms vs the equivalent Red and Teal. But in the 12v Milwaukee clearly put time into putting a ton of tools out for that. They're reallt good for home owners who don't need so much weight and power, plus they're cheaper then 18v counterparts

Milwaukee has the 12v ratchets down due to battery design. But that also means the dewalt 12v drill and impacts are better (design and comfort) due to battery. So double edged sword

I work construction also and prefer m18 and dewalt 12v. Except for the ratchet. That's m12. Same with right angle impacts. It's due to battery design. But impact wrenches in 12v dewalt wins hands down for me

I hope not. I recommended Makita to a friend of mine based on personal experience and they went with the CXT line. Trying to find a gift for him, I realized there really wasn't too many tools in 12V
