The price used to be $64.99 for a longer time, now Amazon reduced it to $48.96.
Currently it's $75.99 at Home Depot and $64.99 at Ace Hardware, so I guess it's a decent price for the tool.
- 3.0-amp motor of the orbital sander spins the pad at 12,000 OPM
- Shorter height of the hand sander allows the user to get closer to work piece
- Separate counterweight design reduces vibration for improved comfort of the electric sander
- Rubber over-mold in all of the critical areas of the sander
- Improved dust-sealed switch to protect against dust ingestion for longer switch life
- Improved dust collection and one-handed locking dust bag
- Dust port is designed to fit directly to the DWV010 or DWV012 dust collectors
- To attach dust port to other vacuum systems with 1-1/4-inch hoses, use DWV9000 Universal Quick Connector

Perhaps you don't do anything with your arms and they're basically spaghetti, but the vibrations from this will not "eat through your arms."
Anyone who's looking for a solid sander need look no further. You don't need variable speed. What you do need is some decent sand paper in various grits. If you're on a budget then I'd suggest Diablo's stuff (harbor freight if you're on a tight budget). And if you're looking to up your sanding game a bit then you should consider Mirka's disks. They're considerably better quality and as such they last considerably longer, but of course you'll pay more.
I would suggest that you avoid battery powered sanders in general. they may be okay for a quick job you have right now, but down the road when you've a bigger project that requires considerably more sanding, you may kick yourself.
Any bullet points claiming superiority with dust collection is marketing hyperbole.
Wear a good mask that seals to your face. Trend's Stealth masks have become my go-to. They don't ever fog up my glasses. And, attach a vac/dust collector.

The DWE6423K is $83 with the carrying case or $75 for the DWE6423 without the carrying case. It seems to be equivalent except for being variable speed from 8,000-1,2000 RPM whereas this DWE6421K is single speed at 12,000 RPM. This seems like a good price for a quality sander.
I have the one in the link, recommend:

Yeah, Bosch definitely has the lock down on sanders, amongst the Big 4 brands.
Their new cordless made me eat my words actually. I just never thought a good electric orbital could exist under $200... but Bosch Proved me wrong (again). Their new 18v (not the 12v it's horrible) is great at $129. And it comes with free 4ah battery kit from Lowe's. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Bosch-18...5001953093
It's not as nice as the GET75-6N. But it's not $200 (or $279 if you don't buy it on sale)... but it is cordless, and it's the best cordless, lower priced sander I've ever used. I think I paid $129 for the tool only Dewalt xr 5in when it came out, and that thing works better as a concrete vibratory tool.

Also, based on a bit of researching just now, I'm also seeing a Makita corded that's in the same ballpark as the Bosch corded sanders at around $100. General consensus appears to be that the Bosch are good, but they still get trounced by Makita in the same way that Makita angle grinders are pretty close to the best out there.
This thing will have you thinking you had a stroke. After a few minutes, the fierce vibrations will eat through your arms and make them ready for surgery without anesthetic.
I used to say there are a few types of sanders. There are: Those over $200. And those that will eat your arms up so bad that you will look like Ace Ventura after getting darted and his arms went limp.
But Bosch made a really great new sander that's cordless (and you get a 4ah battery, charger, bag for free with it at lowes).
So if you go below $130, then every extra dollar you spend over $30, is a waste.
I'm going to go ahead and disagree with pretty much everything you said here. The over-dramatization is a bit much. This is a perfectly capable sander for pretty much any woodworking hobbyist.

Is this Bosch sander with kit still available at Lowes? Anything special to get the battery or does it just come that way?
