Perfectly loud keyboard if your boss needs to be convinced that you should still be allowed to work from home ;-)

Would help to label the thread as TKL for tenkeyless or to explicitly call this out as an 87 key keyboard.

Good luck!

Also wanted to add that these are Outemu switches, so they're not a completely unknown vintage of mechanical switch.

Good luck!

I'm familiar with blue and brown, but not red switches, any comments? Although the browns I've tried are more quiet I find the typing experience is a tad mushier and feedback is not as good as blues.

Have this and love it. My wife hates it because of the clicky noise, which makes me love it even more.

Both of the switch types you're describing provide some form of feedback/resistance. Sounds as if you might hate reds. Reds are linear switches with no feedback (click/bump) so you might find yourself complaining about accidental key presses if you're used to that resistance.

Otherwise they're certainly not broken and, I'd argue, make for a more proper "gaming" keyboard than blue switches (which are really for a certain variety of deaf, OG touch-typist like myself).

Good luck!

No. This is a cheap mechanical keyboard with cheaper switches. A set of 10 Cherry MX switches is $10, you're not getting a full keyboard with Cherry MX for $18 unless you find some YMMV closeout

If you don't use particular function keys very often you can use a vetted keyboard manager such as Microsoft's official powertoys release https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/...powertoys/ to reassign any key to perform a particular function

. . . I have used this program to reassign particular rarely-used function keys on my keyboard to directly operate media controls (play/pause, next track, back track, volume up, volume down) without having to press the function key first....

I have this exact keyboard. The quality is quite good, but it is EXTREMELY loud.

Don't think of getting this for use with a wife, roommate, or anyone else in an adjacent room. Not to mention, you can hear the keyboard over any smartphone or microphone.

I would spend a little more and get the red switch variant unless you live alone.

This is a well-made keyboard with a metal board and robust plastic. It uses Otemu switches, which are quite good, and better than 90% of Cherry MX clones.

Unless you own this keyboard or have used it, do not give out incorrect advice.

Better suggestion, how about not getting offended by facts. Obviously you have an implicit bias, but that is irrelevant here:
Is this a cheap mechanical keyboard? Yes, it's sub-$20.
Is this equipped with cheaper switches than cherry MX? Yes: they're half the cost of Cherry MX.
Are cherry MX $10 for a set of 10? Yes.

There is nothing incorrect about what I said. I did not say anything about the quality of the keyboard nor the quality of the switches. I answered his question, which was specifically about if it had Cherry MX switches.

PS: they're Outemu switches, not otemu
